Gee, the rule interpretation is an interesting one there. The interpretation changed a bit a couple of years ago to put the onus on the hooker (with deliberate acts, which that wasn't).
Katoa could have been flatter, but he didn't move. The hooker could have done better.
My issue is that it becomes a penalty against Katoa for ruck interference, which is harsh. Should be a play the ball.

Wow. Tuned in to hopefully watch Penrith sink to an all time low. Really didn’t think they could be this bad for this long and thought they’ll probably get up; but I wanted to see them fall short. But never did I expect them to be a team that’s IN ABSOLUTE BITS.
I like the story with the coach, Ivan, in all this. If you have coached a team to 4 premierships and then this happens - what’s your strategy? - he hasn’t had to coach from this position for a looooong time!

I hope proper attention is put on the real issues.
The media will try to run with 'what's doing at Penrith' and will try to put the dagger in where they can. Speculate the Clearys have lost it etc
The real discussion though is in the salary cap era, how can a club get proper dispensation for developing talent?
Got talking with a few Penrith fans in Vegas and it cuts them deep when beloved players have to leave.
In the current setup, we will want that to be us one day, because it means we are producing a calibre of player that exceed what we can pay in the salary cap. But it will hurt to see lads come all the way through and leave because they can't be paid what they are worth.

That’s a problem though if there are no restrictions then they could win 10 titles in a row with new superstars on top of that 2021 team, they probably didn’t time it right for Luai’s successor and Fish was unexpected and huge

Is that not an intended result? I mean the penthers got "proper dispensation" by getting 4 rings. And managed to keep some of that talent around for a lot longer than they otherwise would. I think any club would take 4 rings and a bottom 5 finish every 5 years... Otherwise the comp just is not competitive, which would result in a boring game IMO.
