If magic round was just us playing all 16 other teams across 4 days, it would be infinitely more epic.

Has the officiating changed this round from the previous rounds?
Some incidents that had previously been sin bins weren't and it felt like the 6 again calls were fewer. Not sure if that's accurate or not.

Devlin made some fair points about the one sided blow outs and the half empty stadium, but he oversold the Rugby magic rounds even competition and Mark Watson pointed out that the novelty of the new stadium is gonna wear off.
Mark Watson made an excellent point about the elitist classist attitudes of Union vs League (he didn't use that language but that is what he is talking about when referencing the corporate speak and morality hard sell).
And he doubled down on that by speaking to the League habit of celebrating humanity and its flaws, embracing controversy (my analysis of that is he is speaking to the spirit of Australian sport whether he knows it or not, that is why they are winners, because they do not get constipated about their cheats and crooks and frankly sometimes Asshole sports stars in the way we do, they just want to win).
Watson asks the question 'after fifteen minutes of watching both codes, which do you think a 25 year old female is going to choose to follow?' This of course is why league is winning the sports war, because the next generation are choosing based on entertainment over family tradition.
And indeed when Devlin criticizes the loss of the compelling defensive arts in League under the new six again's he is missing the point. We love that stuff because we were raised on it. New fans do not love it. Loads of try's is what the click and swipe generation are looking for, not grinding defence.
