NRL NRL Round 11 2026 - Magic Weekend Discussion

Before playing us, they were unlucky losing to penrith by 1 in GP in Darwin. So they've lost to team 1 (penrith) and team 2 (us) and then beaten i) storm (bottom 8), ii) bulldogs (Bottom 8) and iii) bunnies (4 - 6 range). So based on that, they are somewhere between 3rd - 6th in my estimation if they continue to progress as they are. No guarantees of that though - Nikorima being out is very big for them moving forward.
I think the phins were about 10th on the ladder at the time and people were talking them up as a top 4 team based on their performance and potential.

Could end up correct.

What’s our home/away record and pd this year? Might be doing better on the road lately? Thinking about GF in Sydney 😂
atm we are 4-1 at home and 3-1 away. Doesn't mean much though as we are yet to play any of the current top 4 away.

The Sydney teams don't really have a home advantage imo as they will all have to play their home prelims at either Accor, Allianz or Combank. So I don't think the chooks or Penrith really care where they play their prelims. But MSS is a genuine fortress for us and having it represents a genuine advantage for us. So top 2 and we are 2 home wins from a GF.

Horo on levels actually tipped us for the minor prem. It's not so far-fetched if you think about it. So long as we don't stuff up the origin period like we did last year, we could close the gap on Penrith and draw further gaps on the chooks, who will both be massively impacted.

Either way, our premiership tilt depends on a top 2 finish imo. I think we could beat Brisbane or Roosters at MSS in a prelim. Not sure if it is at accor or Suncorp.
Unless the NRL are stupid and decide - since they get the money out of finals matches, not the home team - to move the game to Eden Too Big Park...
Although, on the other hand, since it would be such a big event (I don't think we've had a Preliminary Final in Auckland), maybe it wouldn't be Too Big...

I actually reckon we would pack out Eden Park for a home prelim given the momentum we have right now. I couldn't think of any better to demonstrate how much of a league town Auckland has become than to pack out Eden park and contrast that to the empty Blues crowds.

We will pack it out easy if Wellington with 5+ times less population can do it, and there will be fans all over the country and AUS trying to get tickets too for a GF preliminary

Looks like the Tigers were a bit Fraudulent to start the season, as said above just lacking depth hopefully if they do compete for the spoon Marshall holds his job together.
