NRL NRL General Recruitment Thread

Sounds like Harrison Hassett from the panthers might be heading to rabbits. Talk of Lodge going there still too

They didn't talk to me directly. Well considering you are the former CEO of Rugby Australia it won't get very far.

They probably do have manager contacting them to help push up their asking price.

I'm not sure contracting a few league players on large contracts will draw enough crowds or sponsors to turn around their financial position. More like the opposite on their financial position.

I did have an article on my Google feed mentioning Dominc Young and a few others. Again that was from a guy (Martin Offiah) who talked to a guy.

Addo-Carr to the Eels. Ryles has had a lot of players move on but it hasn't looked great in terms of players coming in.

Addo-Carr taken a pay cut. Some discussion on Addo-Carr or Mam was clubs sacking them and then next team signs them for the same amount or more. The players don't really learn much then if they just change jerseys. Hopefully, clubs are going to be a bit tougher negotiating with players in those situations now.

Or if it's a case of just moving clubs for the same amount of money. Maybe the solution should be to send them to the Tigers. That has been a punishment for quite a few players.

Ben Hunt to meet with broncos staff in the next 48 hours. Roosters forum wondering what’s happened as they believed he was heading there

A few days ago he wasn't going to the Broncos and it was either the Bulldogs or Roosters.I can see why the Roosters side is confused.

I can't wait for this to be over.
You’re right, just yesterday he apparently wanted to stay in Sydney? Most likely only people who know are Hunt and his family? Surely it’s about the potential to win a premiership rather than the big paycheque for Hunt in this part of his career? Having not won one. I could see roosters or broncos perhaps benefiting from him most in that regard

The Mam situation has blown up the Broncos spine esp with grandpa AR. Hunt will be milking this for all its worth, its his last contract
Players seem to hold out for the longest contract, but that might not be the case for Hunt? He’s 35 early next year. The reason apparently for wanting to head to Queensland was that’s where his mrs family is and they were to return. In the broncos case, that would be ideal but the roosters would obviously mean staying in Sydney for whatever period. Broncos now have Mam out for a period, roosters have Walker out for a period of next year, I reckon it’ll come down to these two fighting it out for him

Apparently Hunts entire life, properties and business are in Sydney. His misso has businesses in Sydney. Hunt isnt holding out for longer he's playing two desperate sides off against each other.

you would think the Roosters have the most room to move in the cap?

Everything says he’s keen to head back to Queensland but prepared to finish his career in Sydney if the right offer comes his way. I would perhaps call the broncos and roosters desperate in the situation they find themselves in with losing important players for a portion of next season and not a lot in terms of players on the market to fill that void, but I think Hunt has the potential to make both teams more of a threat than what they were. Probably broncos is where I think he can add the most
