I like what the Chiefs are doing (assuming rumours are accurate)
They're focusing on the spine/backs first (Cobbo, Manu, Luai, Johnston etc).
Normally it should be the other way around, but I don't think the Chiefs will lack bodies willing to go forward and hard. Securing the players who can ice opportunities first is a good idea in theory.

Hookers are rare ATM, not many on the market. I wonder what we are thinking with Egan and Healey, clearly Tafua is rated at our club and is popping into our squads being named. Can see him getting time this year, perhaps we are looking to move Egan after 27 for Healey and Tafua beyond? Can't see Healey staying if Egan re signs.

I wonder if the the Egan/Healey question is also tied up in the Mets/CHT/Boyd dilemma.
Im going to pull some numbers out of my bum, but say if Egan is on 600k and Healey 300k and needing an extension at the end of the year, given how highly Taufua is rated and looks like hed start to get game time and sit on the bench at the end of this year/start of next year, do we extend Taufua on a small contract, release Healey and then be able to give CHT an upgrade, but he then becomes that bench hooker and utility cover, whilst also having Tafua on the bench encase Egan goes down early.
Imo, thats a better option than losing one of Mets, Boyd or CHT. Deffo a different role for CHT but hell likely still play 15 games as a half each year while doing stints at hooker, 13, and potentially even centre if required.
