NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

He has put Manly in the position of having to stump up with a better offer for him or getting rid of him or letting him go which would make them look bad. I think this will back fire and it will come out eventually what he is really like. It is true however that Manly won't be the same without him for a while at least.
The truth is he is a liar! So much evidence he is 2 faced!

I think its done and dusted. He's come out and and doubled down to say he's leaving.

Then again, he could back flip on that...

But I suspect a pretty decent retirement package elsewhere will come his way.

Well, by the sounds of it, Manly only put through an offer a couple of hours before he went on air.

He'll look like a right dip shit if he's come out with a media release that he's leaving and then not leave.

Also, history doesn't really favour him in that department either.
Sounds like he definitely won’t be there next year. Talk is the roosters. Would be a bummer if it was them with so much salary cap spared. They wouldn’t need to part with anyone to accommodate him. Still really like Naufahu Whyte

Manly going to get caught being too cute here.

I think there is animosity there. He says Manly wanted to wait for another offer to compete with and that didn’t come.

An 11th hour TV offer delivered through NRL360 (to pressure a positive response) is a very ordinary way to counter an exit discussion.

I think Daly (like Reynolds before him) is thinking after a decade and a Premiership with this Club, he deserved the respect of a 2yr offer when discussions began.

I think Manly have made the same error as Souths, instead of providing the offer and having an all time Club legend, they’ve tried to negotiate a dollar or two and look extremely short sighted for doing so.

Have a look at both Players career stats, tell me they wouldn’t have looked a hell of a lot better under one logo.

Short sighted, disrespectful and looks likely to end poorly for the Club as it did for Souths.

The rumour mill is in full swing currently in regards to Dylan Brown.

Drums are beating for Parra to release him this year to the Knights.

Knights are keen and are offering as many as 3 players to get off their books for this season to free up the money to get Brown across.

Hastings is the big sticking point, he’s taking up the most coin out the players they want gone but nobody wants him
Any news on who the Knights are putting up? Apart from their suggestion of Hastings?

Knights looks like they're about to embark on some interesting negotions with Ponga.

Ponga on potentially 2m a season at the back end of a new contract and Bown on 1.3m over 10 years. Yeah I'll grab my popcorn and keenly watch how this all unfolds.
I would love him to go to the AB's, Knights have got some great young ones coming through.

I remember on NRL360 a couple of seasons ago it was mentioned that DCE was one of the few - or maybe even the only? - Manly players who was prepared to take a paycut to help Manly keep the Stewart brothers...

I guess Manly's ego obscured reality and they never bothered to wonder why things were going so well with DCE.

But I bet they wanna know why now!
