I rewatched the game and Lussick was fine. We were slower in the play the ball but Lussick was always there ready. Ruck speed is where we did Lussick a disservice. Which had a flow on effect. Cohesion has been mentioned rightly and I reckon we'll click soon.
Just gotta stay patient and apply pressure. Looked like after we scored a couple of quick tries we thought it was going to come easy. AFB was in such good touch I thought we should have kept firing him at them all game and think going through the middle is our best attack until CNK gets back

You cannot unless we develop internally and then we have to wait.
No certainty that they will go on.
Hard to get established middles relocating and then you have the same problem we had with AFB doing a runner
I was someone who questioned whether he would put in this year under the circumstances and am glad to say how wrong I was, he was about the most willing out there on Friday. A real testament to his character and the esteem he obviously holds the club to in his time here. Really hope we can send him over on a high as unfortunate as it is to lose him

How the fuck do we replace this guy?
We replace him with 2 young bulls(Xavier Willison & Utoikamanu) and hope Barnett doesn't leave us. Barney & Utoikamanu to start & have Nuikore & Willison off the pine. And wish for the best lol. Addin is going to be so hard to replace. Even worse if SJ retires.

I know it was just the first game but they went away from what worked last year. They never got the ball to the wingers who were lethal last season. Did our wingers actually get the ball apart from running back for a Sharks kick? The fist 20 mins was pretty good, but the entire team went missing in the final 60 mins. Storm this weekend? After that performance and seeing the Storm play we don't have a chance in Melbourne. 2 games into the season and we will already be dropping well off the pace!
No CNK no set move quick shifts to our edges.
All will click when we get the three key spine players fit to set up DWZ.

And Metcalf needs more time to find his way on that left side.

Dunno why the lols to this post.

It was a narrow loss in a tight contest, the Sharks are good at the arm wrestle, we did well considering the players we lost in game.
Indeed. Just watched the final 20 mins again, and neither team scored - a real arm wrestle like you say, and it's incredible how much pressure we put on the Sharks defensive line. Just couldn't convert it into points.

Everyone’s critical of us but there's 2 sides in the game - the Sharks were a defensive wall when it mattered. They were under immense fatigue and just kept turning up and shutting down our plays, getting up quick into our faces and slowing our play the ball.

Smart and committed defence and we weren’t crisp enough to overcome it.

Still feel if that game was a few weeks into the season we would steamroll them once our combinations click. Statistically we did more than enough to win.

What you want in an NRL team is being hard to beat. We cannot win every game, so if you are gonna lose, lose well I say, make a fight of it. Show what you are made of mentally.

The Warriors especially, cannot afford to show a soft underbelly.

At least the Sharks will not feel confident when we play them again, as we have seen with certain clubs, once you let them get the wood on you, the Warriors cannot beat some teams that have no respect for us.

We play two of them in the first six rounds, this weekend, then Souths.
