Football Investors have pulled out of redeveloping Western Springs into a $250m 12,000 seat stadium, funded by the billionaire owners and at no cost to ratepayers.

They were the preferred option for Council but sounds like they got sick of the delays and mucking around…

Surprise, surprise..... within weeks of receiving a Resource Consent for their helipad for their 24m Westmere property, stadium backers Ali Williams and Anna Mowbray (along with the others) withdraw their bid for a Stadium.

Probably read the room too. Every post about it seemed to be flooded with a leave it as a concert venue/speedway sentiment from Joe public.
If you want to think about the "character" of some of the guys involved with Speedway in Auckland, consider this. Michael Brough, the Auckland TQ Midget Association president, has complained that someone in council "committed fraud" when they put the contents of an email on to "letterhead" paper of the TQMA. Yet, he's never released his original email showing that the content was changed.

Then, his business decided to sponsor a new prize given, not to the top driver in the class (as that prize already existed), but to the "most improved" driver.... the winner of this prize.... his son Nathan. There's a lot of other parents and drivers who feel others would have been more deserving of that prize.

Irrespective of the future, Auckland Stadiums need to lift their public communications.

Apparantly showing your Total Mobility card is no longer enough to get to park in the TM spaces. You have to book online the Monday prior to a home match. I got away with not having booked last time - I hadn't been confronted with it before - and I've just found out it's all booked for Sunday but there's some "first come/first serve" allocation available. Don't really want to hang around Mt Smart for hours before 4PM just to get some parking...

I certainly got no emails from the Warriors/Mt Smart about the change and I don't recall there being any Media release about it...
