Lol fuck man tell us how you really feel.

Anyways, I love how Barnett's top moment from Origin is a fight haha. Classic. Could be an enforcer if he gets the call up

Origin in the eighties is a different sport to what is played now.

Yet we are supposed to buy into these one sided series that lack the opening ferocity of their dna, while being played extensively by ex NZ players and Samoan and Tongan internationals.

The whole thing is a joke.

A big wankfest.

Compare it to the NBA.

The American Basketball team could not give a shit about the Olympics, yet no one can touch them around the world, even when they play like they don't care a shit they put 100 points on you, because they are better...their domestic competition...the National Basketball Association, really is the best in the world.

Origin players cannot make that claim when thrown together in a Kangaroo dream team format because frankly they are not significantly better than other countries at this sport anymore = their rep trials called origin are full of shit.

Shame he got the call up to the Australian Ranfurly shield that few care about anymore, but hype wanked more than ever by the NRL product sales dept.

Could not give a flying shit about Origin.

Seeing Webster make the announcement makes me sick given the Warriors seem to have stopped promoting or celebrating Kiwis selection.

Totally hypocritical.

Origin is bullshit, their combined super side cannot beat the Kiwis, hell they can't even thump Tonga anymore.

Everything else they tell you is jiggery pokery wankery...like somehow they expect the combined stars of Queersland and New South Whales to not be as good as when they play each other.

Bullshit, man up, admit your shit is weak when you combine it and actually have it tested by an exterior competition like international football.
I agree 100% with 90% of that.
Still thought it was a great moment seeing the boys rally around him after Webby breaking the news- no doubt it meant a lot to him and he absolutely deserves it.
Ive alway thought it would be a great idea for the nrl to have a ranfurly shield type concept- would add some interest to the home games of whoever is defending it and would be a bonus if u could finish the season as the holder.

Someone on another forum did the maths on it, from 117 odd years ago. Hasn’t been updated for a while, but as of last year we had held the shield for 41 weeks total.

One thing to also consider with Barnetts selection is that Australian players would feel (rightly or wrongly) that coming to play for us means there is little to no chance of Origin selection, having Barnett be selected purely on merit shows other Australian players considering us that it is possible to achieve higher honours over here.

We beat Aus ONCE in the last 7 games and all of a sudden we are thrashing SOO and their national team lol

Guess they dont say Kiwis have a chip on their shoulder for no reason.

Congrats to everyone who makes representive honours for whichever team/country they are representing. They should always be celebrated and not put down just to try to make ourselves look better.

Lets just ignore that they stack the International deck so that they have three prep games and muck the test match schedule around so that it is a sporadic when they feel like it affair rather than an annual three test series minimum to help other countries build continuity and momentum.

For years they would play their origin and then play a one off Anzac clash like exhibition game with zero preparation given to their minnow opponents.

Or the way they refuse to play in WC years unless it suits their calendar.

And lets just ignore that the NRL blocks the NZRL from having its own independent tests against Great Britain by not releasing players from club games.

And lets turn a blind eye to the token treatment of the rising Pacific tide of fans who turn on events that put Origin to shame for their passion and and intensity, yet they too will not get an international window thanks to Australia starving its opponents of meaningful opportunities to build representative sides that could bury them and their bullshit origin yester year comp.

Samoa, Tonga, and the Kiwis could and should be free to play a rival series with England if they choose during the window, which would be an instant success in front of sell out stadiums if played in NZ. Then bring your Kangaroos and see how they like playing against an equally well prepared opponent.

Well done big man. For someone growing up in NSW this would be such a buzz and probably will be the pinnacle of his career . Great reaction from the team when it was announced as well. What perfect timing being the last game of the round after an against the odds win. TMM's reaction sitting next to AW sums it up nicely I think. Genuine joy and excitement for Barnett. Mitch is obviously well respected and liked in the playing group and that team celebrating his success shows that.

Shouldn’t we look at it as State of Origin being more an Australian cultural thing?

Just because it’s important in their sporting culture doesn’t mean we disrespect it.

Barneys Australian. Websters Australian. Make it a big thing for them as we embrace all players individual culture as part of being a Warrior.

It sounds like you don't like state of origin

Never said Mitch has 'paved the way'.
It's been 7 years since Lillyman played for us and QLD, plenty of new blokes in the NRL who wouldn't remember that far back 😂
And Lillyman was already a Qld origin player when he joined us. I think PJ Marsh is the only other player that has been selected to debut in Origin while playing for us and that was over 20 years ago.
