People forget that at the Broncos TMM playing fullback was their best performer.
Agree, he also played a blinder at fullback in a pre season game this year against the Storm.
TMM gives another ball playing option from the back and his inclusion allows for Healey to come off the bench and also means that Kosi can remain in NSW cup with RTS and TT on the wings.
We need Capewell in the pack at the moment too as short on experience .

Tbh TMMs lack of a strong kicking game means he either gets paired with Boyd or no one else.

Out of all our halves TMM is the best at creating space for others. Boyd is a straight up n down controlling half with a dominant boot, Luke is a run first and jump on the back of any break half, Chanel has maybe traits of all 3 without really being dominant.

I think Luke and Chanel were both sharing a hybrid 6 and 7 role which seemed to gel for the most part. Likely that its going to be a Boyd/Chanel pairing but it'll be interesting to see how the dynamic works as Boyd doesnt really take the line on in a Metcalf sense.

Im probably more interested who'll play fullback. I like Tauapiki but if were looking at someone who fits our game plan of high yardage/workrate, strong carries with strong last line defence......then thats Roger.

I think Boyd gets named and deserves a crack. He'll put the opposition in the box better than anyone else which is so key to our style.

But I'm not sure there's enough creativity in a Boyd/CHT halves combo to threaten the better defensive teams.

CHT try assist numbers look good and credit to him, but a lot of those assists are last pass out the back of shape that's initiated by Luke Metcalf in the middle service role. Is Boyd enough of a threat in that middle service role to open as much space for a sweeping CHT as Metcalf has?

I’m warming to,
1 TMM
2/5 TT and RTS
6 CHT
7 TB

14 SH

Means we get them all on the field and TMM and TT can light it up and Healey the same from the bench.
Probably least disruption to the future of the side with a fit CNK coming back when fit in place of TMM who isn’t signed past this year and a fit DWZ coming back in place of Tuaupiki. Quite a few configurations with that group of players. With Healey I think we need a plan to play him for some impact around the ruck, if he could play some lock, even better

Gus talking up TMM lol

I think give it to Boyd/CHT for 3 games and TMM on the bench, bring him on if we are desperate. If it goes to poo and we get thrashed to 0:3, we replace one of the halves with TMM, he's now first drop injury cover anyway.

We can always bring TMM on at 60min mark, move Boyd to 9, hook Egan like the dogs 🤣🤣

But seriously that could work because we do want to give Egan a spell instead of playing 80min, CHT can move to 9 and TMM 6 and change up the attack and "ambush" the other team.

We've seen TMM, hit and miss. I'd really like to see what Boyd offers. It could be shit and he'd be an easy drop since he'd clearly not be the future and was a bargain purchase. But if he can offer some real game management, it's something we've been missing all season.

Webby and the coaching team would need to step up and create ways for us to score more points, which they need to do anyway. But being able to manage a game would be huge.

Boyd has a reputation of being one of the teams hardest trainer. Working very hard for a FG call up

What do I think ?

I think Boyd couldn't get it done last year for Le Titan
Titans fans were glad to be rid of him
They grudgingly say he can kick well and tackle well.
I deep dove into his stats for Titans when he first came to the warriors in the off season. He made by memory 2 errors per game before he was dropped
He looks amazing when he plays for NSW cup and shows better than TMM in the same games playing along side each other. I don't think however NSW cup form matters very much.
I suspect that Webster will be aware of all of the above, and won't really care that much abut 6th tackle kicking options. I see this halves pairing going to TMM 7 and CHT at 6. Taine to come in at fullback. Maybe Boyd gets 17th man as some sort of emotional token recompense that makes sense in Webster's mind.

Was interesting watching SJ’s league lounge last night with DWZ a guest. At one point SJ said when talking about TMM, has he even trained at fullback? DWZ said na in way that to me insinuated this guy is amazing in his versatility to play anywhere when called upon. I’d be surprised if Boyd isn’t next man up and TMM stays 14. Gives both players a chance to stake their claim in one game and get some time there. If TMM is hungry for another contract, I definitely wouldn’t sleep on him and could be a real competition between TMM and Boyd

Did Sj not realised he played many games at Fb for Broncos and when he played at fb they won almost all those games

Think he was just asking if he’s been training there this season? Would have been no need though with CNK healthy until now and Tuaupiki or Doyle training there for nsw cup in opposed training. Just seemed like an acknowledgment of how seamlessly he’s slotted into each position when needed
