The thing with Metcalf “not being worth” the million. Is someone else WILL pay it.

100%. Its Metcalf and its now. 3 years and lets get this prem.
Better pay CHT a million too. Probably more based on the season so far. Of course there are options. He is also contracted until the end of next year. He is kicking at 61%, our attack is 13th in the competition, he hasn't controlled a whole game yet this season despite our dominant forward pack. So, no I don't agree.

That’s why I’ve said from the start moderate increases with goals in his contract is where I’m at. I’d be happy to give a million towards the backend of the contract provided goals have been met. Not sure what goals you could incorporate? But the goal is a premiership and injuries have been a problem in the past. Backend deals aren’t the go but to start at $850k and go up from there with all going right I’d be happy with

Player contract value is are entirely subjective based on their intrinsic value system. Hence we cant sign top players no matter how much money we throw at them and why some players choose to stay for "unders"
If CHT and Metcalf get us to the finals every year, they are worth 1m each.

Quite possibly but I don't believe they are worth an upgrade to $1mill for next season.
No doubt, that would require you to have faith in Metcalf.
I just think its time for the club to commit. We have the team and the cap to make a 3 year play for our spine. I dont see a better 6&7 rocking up and playing better before the start of the 2026 season.

I think we have a bit of time to get a better gauge on Metcalf before we decide to throw the bank at him. There’s still questions about his durability given that he only played 19 games in the two previous seasons.
The signs are looking promising, there’s been an improvement in his decision making and he’s more decisive in what he’s doing. Mistakes don’t seem to ruffle him.
All the same I’d prefer to wait until the season finishes before looking to resign him.
