Does anyone actually think Jackson Ford is the best player in the NRL right now?
Is he even the best player at the Warriors right now? Massive stats sure but doing a role rather than impacting results.

Boyd is my player of the year so far. JFH I think has more impact of the team (leadership and lifting his game and smashing people when the team needs a lift).

Ford has been fantastic and not diminishing his season but I don’t see him having a big impact on results despite his excellent stats.

I think you underestimate the impact that an 80 minute prop has on the game.

You effectively get an extra player and interchange.

That's discounting the most impactful stat in existence (post contact metres), of which Ford has 50 more than the next best player in the NRL.

All true. Let's never forget that to win nrl games you must first get ascendancy in the middle. Ford is a huge part of this and his ability to land on his front. Allowing for a quicker PTB. Deserves every plaudits

Ford is awesome, but his main point of difference is that he can play a consistent 80min and give the coach more flexibility around interchanges. Surely this isn't a factor in Origin, where there are elite players who all need minutes?
Exactly.

Ford's strength is playing long minutes allowing that energy conservation of the rotation around him.

S.O.O youve all ready got Payne Haas and AFB who are also long minutes playing props......your not going to (or would be crazy to) cut down their time, along with the 4 middle (probably Barney) most teams carry means at best Ford may get a 30 minute ish stint. Which then makes him more into that impact role territory which aint his bag man.

Love what he does for us and wouldnt swap him out but as a Queensland supporter id be quite happy to see him named in their line up.
