Does anyone actually think Jackson Ford is the best player in the NRL right now? I am happy for him to be playing well and leading the Dally Ms! But the Dally Ms are such a BS system. Even last year, when Metcalf was leading, he wasn't playing that well. It really creates a distorted perception of a plyers ability!

Anyway, GO JACKSON FORD!!!
Don't be a buzz kill! Jacko is killing it!

I think it is skewed by his match involvement. 80 minutes on both sides of the ball, his game impact doesn't even need to amount to much with the stats that are automatically generated through that.

Having said that, he has the motor to do it, and he does so at a high intensity so hat's off to him. Glad to have him, he is invaluable.

Do stats even come into the equation though? Surely Boyd was the top stats player after 3 rounds.... Things like the VB hard earned index are stats based, right. I just hope they don't do him dirty, like they did to SJ.

Yeah it is definitely a bullshit system... until a Warriors is leading it.

Ford is awesome, but his main point of difference is that he can play a consistent 80min and give the coach more flexibility around interchanges. Surely this isn't a factor in Origin, where there are elite players who all need minutes?

Yeah I agree completely. Terrell May is another one from last year - a prop that plays big minutes, makes a tonne or tackles and meters and tackle breaks but didn't get a look in.

Same as Ford in the sense that it's impressive as fuck, but probably not what you need in Origin when you have:

Haas
AFB
Kolo
Stephanopoulos
Barney
Lenui

All generally more impactful props available atm. He'd be above Max King tho surely 🤣

Ford to lead Dally M, plays 81min per game, Boyd 1 point behind Tedesco, ahead of Moses and a 5:0 record without our main man, and we smash the Storm into submission in Melbourne and beat them by 20+ points 🤣
I mean just look at the ladder. I think most would of gotten panthers at 1st and dragons last. But to see storm right at the bottom of the table at 15th, raiders at 13th, bulldogs at 10th and broncos at 9th. All teams most people had in the 8. Quite the insane year.

I hope he gets his chance. Obviously would prefer he stays well away so he’s available for us but imagine what getting an origin call up would do for his game and confidence. It could go to an even higher level similar to Barney.

My understanding is it is a couple of old boys that decide on a whim. I'm sure they look a the stats sheet first though. RTS was running for over 200m a game in his Dally M year, yet arguably not contributing much to the result.
