yeah thanks for suggesting. this was done. also made some tweaks so you can trade for a player on another team directly from their profile etc.@tajhay, at some stage could you please add into a players season stats the position they played in that game? For me Pongia plays about the same minutes whether he's a starter or off the bench and adding in the position played makes it a little easier to see where he performs best
good question. just note that not all errors are the same i.e dropped ball, missed tackle.@tajhay, assuming a player isn't fatigued, it is the Consistency stat and current Form that relates to how often someone makes a mistake?
| Mistake | Mainly controlled by | Made worse by |
|---|---|---|
| Handling errors (knock-ons, fumbles, dropped ball, forward passes) | The ball-carrier's Game Sense & Passing | Low morale, tiredness, wet/cold weather, an aggressive defence rushing you, playing a risky running game |
| Missed tackles | The defender's Tackling | Tired defenders. (Nothing the attacking team does can force these.) |
| Penalties | Your team's average Discipline | Playing an aggressive defensive style; giving away too many in a row |
| Six-agains | Linked to your Discipline | Tired forwards late in the game |
Note: The type of error (knock-on vs forward pass vs strip vs falcon) is random — your stats decide how
often you make mistakes, not which kind.
---
| Stat | What it does | How big a deal |
|---|---|---|
| Game Sense | Fewer handling errors — smart players look after the ball | |
| Passing | Fewer handling errors and forward passes | |
| Tackling | Fewer missed tackles | |
| Discipline | Fewer penalties | |
| Morale | Happy players make fewer errors | |
| Consistency | High = reliable every week; low = up-and-down, sometimes great, sometimes sloppy | |
| Leadership | Your best on-field leader steadies the team when you're behind or in a tight finish | |
| Form | Does not affect mistakes — only makes a player more dangerous in attack | — (attack only) |
Tip: Fatigue makes everything worse — tired players drop more ball, miss more tackles and give away more
penalties, especially in the second half. Manage your interchange and rest.
---
| Your choice | Effect on mistakes |
|---|---|
| Running attack | More tries and line breaks, but you'll cough up the ball a bit more |
| Kicking attack | Safer — fewer errors, but fewer line breaks |
| Aggressive defence | Forces more errors from the opposition, but you'll give away more penalties |
| Conservative defence | Fewer penalties from you, but you let the opposition play more freely |
| Captain – "Lead from Front" | Extra calm in the last 10 minutes (small but handy in close games) |
| Captain – "Organise Defence" | Slightly fewer penalties and tighter forwards |
---
| Conditions | Effect |
|---|---|
| Heavy rain | Most dropped ball |
| Frost / cold | More dropped ball |
| Humid / hot | More dropped ball |
| Light rain / damp | Slightly more dropped ball |
| Fine | No effect |
Weather doesn't affect missed tackles or penalties — just ball handling.
Note - Claude Code now has a good understanding of the codebase so i will get it to explain it rather than me as itll prob do a better job than i. I do know that there is one flaw, the attacker's ability should have an impact on missed tackle etc as it currently only uses the defenders ability and not the attackers but that is noted so it can be incorporated later.
