It is interesting how that works. Early on I was warned about Luke Metcalfs possible unreliability due to his low stat. Since trading him away he hasn’t missed any game time.
Could be he just enjoys the warm waters of Fiji more I guess.
It does have an impact on who they are playing with.
SJ and
Metcalf obviously have a chemistry connection, vs say someone like Seymour, especially they are playing first and second receiver. Plus obviously coached better (notwithstanding the Langer effect).
But more to the point, you should always be trading away players to make your team stronger as a whole. For example, i traded away Meli, who went to Hawks and now onto you and hes doing great but he wouldnt be if he was playing for me as he would be getting a share of the wingers possession. There is lesser value in having two very good wingers (vatuvei, meli) when you have other urgent issues, especially since they play a similar type of power running game. My scores/results are probably reflective of
SJ and
Metcalf combo (along with the strategies) where they are hot and cold as both are fairly low in consistency. There are some people who are very emotionally tied to their players and arent willing to entertain trades.
But that said i havent done any match engine tuing for a few weeks and am gathering more data, but there are very obvious things noticed such as halfbacks getting pretty high run metres, offloads etc. After completition of this round, i will compile all the match stats from prior rounds together and compare against NRL averages so there may be some tweaks that follow.
BTW just for interests sake, have a look at the 'value for money' tab in the leaderboard. Those are the real value winners for what people paid for players.
