Haha thanks. Yeah it will be a very immersive experience. After the initial squad auctions, it would not take more than 20-30 mins a week to be honest.
1) Responding to judiciary charges for the week - 1 min
2) Setting up team/strategies or changing team from prior week - 2 min
3) Responding to judiciary charges - 1 min
4) Setting training methods for the week ahead - 1 min
5) Holding Press Conference - 2 mins
Then there are trades if you want to do etc or suggest trades to other users.
But yeah its not for people who back away after the initial excitement. It is fairly immersive experience and every part is automated and plays a part. Its one of those the more you put in the more you will like it. Hence the number of franchises per season is not likely to change (also Warriors have 358 players to choose from including junior levels ie Harold Mats etc). Also innaugral coaches have first dibs on whether they want to return for future seasons before any franchises for future seasons become available.
Essentially every team will have those Harold Mats players in their squad in order to make up numbers. A key premise of this game is for Warriors fans to get to know more about players who have represented the club in the past, current and will in the future. Even if it just means that users get familiar with those names it would have done its job. And the game engine is pretty sweet if i say so myself lol

Update - a host of legendary players have put up their hand up to participate in the upcoming season of Ultimate Team under a new agreement reached between ESL, NRL and NZW Ultimate Team leagues. Under the licensing agreement, some former greats will lace up their boots for one final time in guest stints (i.e. 4 weeks etc) and will become available in the auction during the season. Ellery Hanley, Martin Offiah and Bradley Clyde are rumoured to be some of the players who have signed on, but have not publically acknowlged the deal. Zac Lomax is awaiting confirmation of the league starting before confirming and requesting a release from his NRL duties to participate in the new comp as a guest player.

My next carrot was to let you know that this game allows any increment bids in auction, the winner is the highest bidder, even for players like Farnworth.
@Defence did you know that this game allows you to name any player as the goal kicker? Their kicking attributes will be taken into account
@wizard of Tauranga this game would be right up your alley.

Update - all approved franchises have been sent trades to review to see how the player trading system works. All approved franchises can see menu under "my franchise" navigation, ie gameplan, press, training etc to see what the interactions look like and the impact.
This week is rebalancing few things including match engine, player ratings/attributes before we start the season.

Except I will be away for a month overseas mid season and will offline. How could this work? Is it possible if I’m MIA for a chunk of the season?
Mate you will log in for at least a couple of those weeks. And the ones you don't you will probably be playing me and it won't matter what you do.

When will you be away? I could automate it for you during thst period or schedule some rep fixtures during that time.
