Team List Dolphins vs Warriors - [Round 11, 2025]

I think JFH will pick up the slack if the boys are a bit flat one week, he will be itching to get out there and repay the squad for winning without him, I think him and Clark have added a hard edge to our squad along with Barnett maturing over the last couple years too. We've only got to get through 4 more games before the boys can have a bit of rest with 2 byes in 4 weeks after that.
Yeah i think the returning and new players (Fish, Dallin, TMM, Healy, RTS when he comes back) have a big role in bringing that energy, lifting the dudes who have been grinding away......however as we saw with Dallin its hard to hit the ground running after a long break...takes a bit.

I think we are reading way too much into our 2nd half fades. To put things in context, both games we were in complete control until key injuries in the second half screwed up our forward rotation and forced our young forwards to play longer minutes than they otherwise would. In the Dragons game, I'm pretty sure we had a 1 man bench at one pt with Ford gone after the 41st minute and Bunty gone after the 60th and Niukore going off for 15 mins due to a bogus HIA call as well. In both games we ended up having to play Healey/TMM in the middle which is not ideal. Any team would have lost momentum with those things going on.

So I think the 2nd half fades are more a reflection of these mid-game injuries than any wider implication than people are trying to draw regarding our long term fatigue. In my view, we go on to win both games 13+ if we don't get decimated on the injury front mid-game.

It's won up front
Oh captain, my captain
Rock of the Penrith defence
Where you lead
Luka Metakafe, the star
Of Betheleham
Will follow, b Positive
That's also my blood type
But that's not important right now
Unless this were a poem
Which it isn't
I just type like this
Now

Sam Huntwah
A few poets
And we didn’t even know it

Did CHT come on here again and start all this?

My concern is the 3pm local start. The dry track will help their speedsters. I can see Herbie and Isaako causing havoc on the edge.
I don’t like the idea of us being known as a wet weather team
Sure we got a lot of slow boats mon
But we can play in good conditions too!
Let’s go swim with the Dolphins
Maybe even talk like them
That will throw Hammer etc off his game completely 😎😎

Warriors have better forward pack hoping they can win there.
Yeah, Warriors forwards and possession, low errors, high completions based game versus Dolphins faster backs but potentially more errors and weaker forwards to get them front foot ball.

It's the story of our season isn't it. We have better forwards, oppositions always have better backs. Was the case in all our wins this year (ie v manly, tigers, brisbane, cowboys, dragons, etc). We are always good for conceding a couple of nice set piece tries but always have enough middle dominance to ensure that we pull through in the end. Expect nothing different on Saturday. Glad to see the return of JFH + Barney which is the best defensive front row pairing in the game imo. No Saifiti, Plath, JMK on the phins side.

I don't recall the Warriors ever having good edge defense in their history!
Think the worst i can recall was under Brown.

Remember that Cronulla game they had 2 sent off? It was 13 v 11 and they were still constantly stripping us for numbers  That was so bad.

Webby did tighten the ship 2023 tho, last year got a bit messy again. This year looks like they've changed it up again. Looks like they want the wingers to defend up high in the passing lanes.......saw it with Roger earlier in the season, Taine recently, Dallin (altho he's prone to a bad read anyway) last game.......must be policy. Not sure im a fan if it is.......i get the sense of trying to shut things down early, but a milli second off and your opening up oppertunities when there was none if u just held your line.

Then again we're sitting second, 4th best defence in the comp, so someone obviously knows what their doing.

Even without Justin Morgan ….
