Ya only 2 due to the weather and 1 of them from Erin lead to Leka try and he had the bold bro pass to Ford on top of Ronaldo try assist πŸ™€

I think it’s just the clutch β€œoffloads” making it look like we’re doing it a lot, credit to the coaching for them to pick the right moment to throw it around, maybe 3 years of robot football education unleashed their elite awareness?
Do their " offload " include the Erin backflip kick to Tannahs meat pie??

Humor me - we are only two games in so stats mean bugger all, but....Boyd leading the comp for point scoring, try assists and line break involvements.
Jackson Ford leading for post contact meters and 2nd for support runs. I think Ford may come of age and be knocking on the door of origin.
On current form he's a shoe in but yeah it's still early days. But look who he's performed against.

Naufahu Whyte
Angus Chricton
Queensland rep tall prop forgot his name. Eats avocados according to an article I read once.
Horsburgh
Hudson Young

All reps at certain levels and he's finally nailing his role and has softened the pain of the departure of Barney. Who knew the prop we'd need to trade for was here already?

I applaud him. And hope to be applauding him for a long time. This is a performance driven sport and he's performing.

Most of us harped on it, as it did the commentators. Boyd’s problem was entirely psychological. He had all the tools, school boy half in a team full of future stars.

People must have forgot I was a big supporter of Boyd’s last year even when we were dropping games. I’m stoked for him that he’s found another gear.
The chorus was too loud to hear your backing of our suddenly awesome half.

I just kept saying he needed bigger balls about fifty times

Some weird stats from the game:

1. We offically only had 2 offloads during the game against the raider's 13. Although when watching it felt like we did a lot more. Compare this to our 16 offloads last game. And those stats feel night and day.

2. We had a lot of infective tackles of 19-4 with Boyd and CNK leading us there. Which is interesting to note because they only had one more line break above ours. So those ineffective tackles must have some effect.

3. Roger only made one tackle all game. They preasured our righthand side. Compared to 9 last game. And shows how good our leftside defense must be with a 50% increased tackle count for both Ali and DWZ.

4. Ali had the slowest PtB speed out of anyone in this game and the previous one at 5.21s over 7 runs. But he did almost manage a tackle break per run.

5. Even though we had 20% more time with the ball. Boyd still had to make 25% more tackles than his opposing half. Diden't look hindered in the slightest by it.

I don't think it counts-he kicked the ball up in a vertical direction, not a horizontal one. Just an amazing try assist.

It went backwards by like 1-2 metres.

Completely superfluous topic, as there are no real negative implications to be drawn from doing so.

I just find it amusing that his epic play lead to a try but potentially was registered as a negative stat against our kick metres.

Wow, hard to believe but NRL on Nine talking up the Wahs. (Year of the Warriors)

Our premiership odds seem to have tightened to $13-$15 range from $26 before round 1. That puts us on par with the Sharks and the Dogs as the 4-5th favorites for the comp. Makes me nervous because the last time this happened in 2024 after we demolished Souths in Sydney, we shat the bed for the rest of the year.

We are the real deal imo.
We look as good as Panthers , Storm right now.
Canberra a bit filthy after the siren? They'll have to wait until next year to have another crack unless they make finals...

Our depth in basically all our positions is nasty good.

There's still ALOT of footy to play, but we are positioned incredibly well for a decent run.

April 11 will be a telling game, for us. (Storm @ Melbourne).

Best not to get ahead of ourselves. We are starting well but we still probably lose to both those sides right now. We need to keep building. Luckily, we have 4 weeks before Melbourne and don't take Penrith on until later in the year. Strong chance that both mets and Barney are back when we take them both on.

2 from 2 is great. But it's a long season ahead and injuries are rotating our squad already and again so we'll be tested for sure.

Panthers... maybe.

If the Storm play like they did against the Dargs, and we play like we did against the Raiders, we'd kill them.
they just need to keep going down to Ali's side and they will score every time just like they did in round 6 last year at Aami Park. Even in the Raiders game, he had crucial one-on-one misses on Sasagi that led to big line breaks that we were lucky to control due to great scramble. Storm will crucify us if we don't fix that. And I'm so sick of losing to those pricks. I want this year to be the year we end the curse.

Ali was much better after that first try. The raiders were constantly pushing his spot and our cover was very good.

Yeah, this losing streak has to end. It's bloody embarrassing.

IT ALWAYS IS
most nervous game of the year is our annual storm barometric test.
2024 ruined our whole year....
I never expect a win but if your not 77-6 or some such, your doing ok. I'd take 18-16 but this year I think we can actually win.
