When's the last time the Canberra pack has been demolished like that? Other than the first 20 mins where we had a rocky start, I'd say we dominated the middle of the field for the next 60 minutes. As soon as our bench comes on, we started to roll them through the middle. Ata Mariota is a good player but we certainly started to dominate as soon as he came on. We really have a bit of a bomb squad situation going on with our bench who are bigger, stronger and more powerful than our starters. The way we are going, we will simply roll teams in the middle third of games because of it.

Thought it would be decided by a middle third scrap and i just thought our pack was massive really
Fish, Ford, and Clark layin the platform and giving us control of the ruck against an equally mongrel Raiders outfit.
And what was most pleasing was when our entire zesty boy corp were given the reigns and our intensity never dropped.

That was a fun watch and yeah, what a great start to the season so far.

Last week the Aussie media were so shocked about the Roosters losing I heard some comments about the conditions in Auckland.

Last week the conditions were fine. Early season it would be close to the best conditions you could get in NZ for night football. Unless it was in the two roofed stadiums.

I liked how we played last week. How that would go mid season was the key question. Got an example tonight they can adjust.

The conditions tonight were more something to comment on. The Raiders had similar last week so, they had good preperation.

The Souths vs Roosters game is getting all the hype. I thought ours was more the match of the round. Conditions maybe spoiled it. Well and the Warriors scoring so many points.
warriors winning spoils everything for fox sports.

I'm not so sure it is natural domination.

The new rules with the 6 agains are causing this to happen.

Our mobility helps us get on top.

Last year at Mt Smart was how I expected this game to go, happy it didn't

So much to like about this team.

Something I think that hasn't been spoken about much so far is that the Raiders looked pretty good. Especially that first half. We were barely holding on with Strange and Weeks looking dangerous as.

They'll be there at the end of the season. A top forward pack and skwm very fast, dangerous backs.

And we absolutely smoked them.
Got in to the arm wrestle when we needed to, tightened our d and just rolled over the top of them. Boyd was fantastic and looks like he's come of age.

All of that without our 2 best players last year. Capes, one of our best performers last game injured before kickoff. Then another 2 - spine players - injured in game and we still roll this very good Raiders team by 40? Wow

Something feels different with this team. Something special is brewing here. This could be the golden era many of us have dreamed about for 30 odd years.

Sure- more mobile forward packs are suited for the modern game. Webby clearly has bent the new rules to our advantage. Canberra is clearly one of the worst offenders of the ruck infringements but that hasn't stopped them from dominating teams before. Just look at last week when they also got a short end of the six again stick but still dominated Manly. But tonight, we were all over them. I've never seen a Canberra lose the middle so decisively for a number of years as they did tonight.

Crazy we’re doing this without any of our backs really doing much. Tauapiki was easily the best back out there tonight, Maybe we could use Niukore or Barnett to get 1 or 2 gun backs who’d slide straight into our team. Then sky’s the limit this year.

Also Linnane and Metcalf still to come, and If Akp comes good maybe we don’t need anyone.

Put a Firing Metcalf and Akp in this team…sheesh
