unless of course we only start him when we're up against the better packsI've shared elsewhere that my inner nerd worked out Bunty's +/- this season & in terms of solely his minutes the team conceded 27 tries & scored 18. Someone challenged this to say that if I would isolate Bunty's first stint, in matches he started, I'd see a reverse in these numbers. Turns out that didn't push his case at all with 14 tries conceded & 12 scored. An overall points total of 64-84 in those combined opening minutes.
By comparison (regular season only), when he played off the bench or didn't play at all, we were 50 points for & 50 points against in the minutes leading up to the first Interchange of a middle forward.
It goes against the commonly held belief that we start better with him & he helps soften up the opposition
Not contradicting your stats at all here, but at the start of games, especially in the first half of the year, the whole side looked clueless for the opening minutes, throw in uncharacteristic errors from CNK (not singling him out) we seem to come in cold.I've shared elsewhere that my inner nerd worked out Bunty's +/- this season & in terms of solely his minutes the team conceded 27 tries & scored 18. That is a possibility too.Maybe we would have been worse off in those games if he didn’t start.
He’s another one like Jazz where an offload could be really effective in the upcoming season, Jazz has one but I think Bunty has more chance of developing an offload rather than footwork. To be fair, Bunty has had an offload in the past too and his defence is next level. Can someone give him some angry pills and a bit of an ego massage so he can belt his frame around like a tough guy? Time to be a leader Bunty.
He's good for this season and next, but I am not keeping bunty beyond 2025!Great to see Bunty make an important contribution in attack yesterday to go along with his usual decoys & tidy defensive work.
I like stats but they don't take into consideration the intangibles. Case in point is Bunty.
In the 4 games he's started we've been behind in 3 of them when he gets subbed off for a rest (only exception is a 6-4 lead vs the Rabbitohs). In these 4 games, when he's on the paddock the team has an overall negative points differential due to poor starts, but if you only isolated his second stints they're at +24.
At the end of the day it's about Wins & Loses and when Bunty has started this season we've won 3 out of 4.
He's good for this season and next, but I am not keeping bunty beyond 2025!
Ale should be more mature and Zyon Maiu’u will be pushing hard. Then there is T S Smith.
We will be okay without bunty.
Can anyone name me one of buntys finest moments in a warriors jersey?
The chase back defending a break where he ran them down and saved a try.Can anyone name me one of buntys finest moments in a warriors jersey?
Okay so what are we talking...... 3 or 4 year extension? The chase back defending a break where he ran them down and saved a try.
