NRL Brisbane Broncos

It will be interesting to see who they manage to get. Most of the names that have got thrown around recently when a job has been available have jobs.

Ryles was the main one that looked to be stepping up as a first grade coach.

Maybe Josh Hannay?

Slater has the Origin job and has usually brushed off questions about NRL coaching. The main thing with the Broncos job is it would give him more time working with Walsh.

It will also be interesting to see what happens with Barrett. He had to move on from the Eels as the incoming coach wanted his own guys. Barrett has probably started looking at moving and settling in Brisbane. This could throw all of that up in the air.

Apparently at the moment it’s between Hannay and Micheal Maguire

Maguire would be interesting. He wanted to continue coaching the Kiwis when he took on the Origin job. He even wanted to carry on with his Raiders assistant role.

Would he continue coaching Origin for NSW while coaching the highest-profile Queensland club? It shouldn't be an issue as the Broncos have had players represent NSW. But you know someone will bring it up. Probably the same guys who thought coaching the Kiwis and NSW shouldn't have been an issue.

One of his first tasks would be to fix Walsh positional play, something he exploited well in Origin.

The kiss of death for any coach is
a club official making a press statement saying ".......... has the full support of the board and the club and we have complete confidence in him going forward"
Translation: Our lawyers are just going through our contract with the useless bum with a fine tooth comb to see if we can get away with paying the bludger less than the contract states, which we can't afford at present.
