Cleary in the warm ups was staring up at the sky trying to gauge conditions.
He said after the game he thought the back 5 would struggle with low kicks.
And the drop outs.

It was a master class from him in all honesty.
When Thurston appeared in the pregame and was talking to SJ, kicking straight away was what he thought would be the difference. He and Walsh have got their teams through with their kicking

I thought we neutralized their attack really well, sacked them on the last a few times including one that pissed Cleary so much he gave away a penalty

Other than the grubber drop outs that we had no answers I thought we covered it pretty well, Boyd should have stuck with the traditional lobby drop outs instead of copying his counterpart.

Cleary kicked a few over the in-goal too, Dallin messed up one when it's clearly going out

The fatal one was still "that kick" where Charnze was daydreaming at his 10m expecting Cleary to kick 70m 🤣

TBH our halves did pretty well other than the dumb cross field kick on the 4th after the Boyd run, story of our 2nd part of the season, players doing amazing stuff like line breaks or sacking the attacking team in their 20, followed by no support runners, vision or having a ciggy at the back

A late thought ...

With Cleary's amazing kicks, our back 3 , epsecially DWZ and CNK, appeared to be out of position or reluctant to take the ball on the full.
To be honest forward pass out of it, it t was very poor from them (mostly cnk), dallin i can forgive a bit as he was kinda covering the 20/40 ( altho the lack of urgency is a concern) however not sure where cnk was or what he was doing, better to be short and have to recover it from behind for the exact reason we saw, the chaser will be coming hard if its short.
