They have kinda earned the right to celebrate however they want with thier results over a long period of time. It was a piss-take video that some Karen's took offence to. It's a bit arrogant to suggest another team should or shouldn't do something, particularly after putting a score on us. I have said it previously, I wonder about the psyche of some of our fans. Not sure how they make it through the day sometimes.

Up the 👶😭🍼
Yup. We've been diluted and it shows as a society.

Making mistakes is one thing but simple ones like losing the ball in the first hour up after halftime or dropping a fairly straight forward bomb is something the truly good sides and players just don't do.
Montoya's dropped ball at the start of the game, came from Penrith challenging him for the high ball. In fact, all the dropped balls came from Penrith pressure. When they kicked deep, and there was no pressure, Montoya took every catch just fine. The same with Fords error where he tried to pass to Jazz. Forced error as he had 2 Penrith defenders breathing down his neck. Pompeys rash passes to Montoya where he was taken over the side line - twice, because Penrith players had swamped Pompey.... there was no simple unforced error that i can recall from that game. Every mistake came from intense pressure applied by Penrith. It was text book stuff. There is a reason why they have the best defensive record and 2 time reigning champions.

Montoya's drop from the bomb was poor. He had every right to take that and while there were Penrith players coming through they weren't doing a hell of a lot to put him off. Our wingers give me the shits anytime they go up on defense trying to take bombs.

Pompey's pass was a very poor decision, hold the ball and start again instead of giving Montoya no chance and us turning over the ball. Ford just had to drop on the ball. Jazz with poor ball security straight after halftime. Players showing a lack of composure, patience and a lack of resilience that we had been working so hard on all season.

What I was saying is that our players need to improve in these basic facets of the game or we need to upgrade to players who are better. Otherwise we just need to hope we play only teams who don't put us under pressure.

Im a bit perplexed about what Webby is trying to do and why our form seems to be going backwards.

My best guess though is:
- we started the year a prop (or two) short, and I thought we would end up bottom 5. Webby came up with a model involving ball playing middles, but also overloading AFB and Tohu, that overcame that weakness to a point.
- as the year has gone on AFB and Tohu are fatiguing from overwork and other teams have figured our model out and are adjusting
- we always knew we were stuffed without SJ firing. The miracle is he’s lasted this long in this good form
- a number of players have had career best years; after a while you expect a little reversion to mean
- I reckon we heavily front loaded the conditioning work to start well; other top teams build into the year

We’ve had an unbelievably good year and exceeded my wildest expectations. I reckon we’ve run our race though.

That was after the initial impact to the ground

Isn’t it where it first touches the ground which is clearly before the line
The commentary team I listened to were saying surely it's not a try. The bunker will have to have a look at that. He's grounded it short of the line. Oh hold on they're awarding it. Well well.

Basically it was the ref saying there you go Warriors this is the standard of reffing you'll be receiving today. It's not why we lost though

I thought he got it on part of the line in the first instance and under control. After that the hand comes off the ball and moves. Looked weird live and I said no try initially but after the replays I couldn't disagree with the decision

we lost because

1. mistakes / errors
2. Ref bias

The try above is directly related to 2.

its shockingly bad they were so quick to confirm the try without looking at the replay closely...

the first photo CLEARLY shows the first point of contact is the grass before the line.... what else is there to see?... everything after the first point of contact is irrelevant...

We have at least one more great fight in us.

A lot of us are over analyzing the team. The story really begins and ends with us not having two experienced specialists in the halves building a combination over the season.

No other team in this finals system is going to win without their star and without an established pair.

Penrith lost Luai but they still had their SJ.

Penrith are going for three in a row so are the team of the decade already. Tough when your best player is missing and their best and most influential was on top form. The playing group seems very resilient though, those three defending sets before half time restricting them to two points said a lot.

Get Johnson back so we can have some decent field position and we can get to the last four.

Random still frames aren't the best way to look at things and he grounded it on the line without losing the ball or promoting it by a double movement.

Not sure what first point of contact has to do with it? Can a player slide in with the ball grounded before the line for a try? Yes he can.

Still frames are exactly what the bunker looks at and interprets. cant change the rules to suit your narrative 😉

And momentum is the not same as planting a ball down. one can easily argue that is a knock on given he lost control after planting it...

The bunker reviews every try. It was confirmed.

yeah, but Hardyman's Yugo was not wrong. it did not go upstairs to the bunker for the decision. the ref made it on the spot.

had it gone upstairs for the decision bunker would / should have looked at the motion frame by frame...
