Went and saw Matt Rife tonight. I'd only really seen a few short clips of him and wasn't expecting too much but he was really good. Great, well done show and good supporting comedians as well.

I saw Jimmy Carr last week, I enjoyed it though my mate was surprised how much of his show was highly offensive (subjective to the offense taker hah!) and mostly one-liner type delivery instead of the 'story-telling' type he prefers - given he'd only been really exposed to his much tamer TV host duties and recent podcast interviews where he could get quite philosophical and non-sweary :ROFLMAO:

I was quite amused that there was an older lady sitting behind us absolutely cracking up at everything, and an older lady in front of us giving her husband the stoic side-eye at a lot of jokes while she had an unimpressed straight face while he wasn't audibly laughing but doing the jiggling shoulders that gives away a stifled laugh 😅

I see Jim Jeffries is also here in early Feb, haven't seen him live yet, but considering it (if not already sold out).

I saw Jimmy Carr last time he was in NZ. Really enjoyed his show. Was contemplating going again this year but was a little unsure how much of a repeat performance it would be plus just forked out for Matt Rife. Jimmy Carr is a very clever guy though so probably would have been mostly original stuff. Its funny how you can have a look online at clips and sometimes even full shows of a comedian so how do you end up paying for tickets and get to the live performance only to be offended. Unless the husband says I've bought us tickets, I'm sure you will love it :)

Hah, I get that, but I suppose people don't know what they don't know, and even online the algorithm doesn't apply evenly to everybody in terms of what clips they are presented (if any).

It was kinda funny that there is an opening text crawl before he comes out that pretty much sets the tone as to what people are about to see/hear and how to react accordingly 😅

Me, I generally don't get offended by much if anything, won't laugh if I don't find something funny but won't get all pissy about it either - the joys of being a disaffected elder millenial 😅

I’ve seen him twice in Sydney a couple of years apart and while I’m a big fan of his the 2nd time was a bit of a repeat performance unfortunately, different jokes but they were essentially just repackaged versions of his previous material- he even used the same opening joke.
Both times I saw him there were people that stormed out (one threw a bottle) - don’t get people that go to a show like his and get offended.

I've always wondered about comedians and how long they can cycle material.

If you go see a band you want to hear the hits not the songs from the latest album. A comedian once the joke is done a tour it's done.

I have learnt from my elderly father that the volume on a TV goes up to 100. Mind is usually on about 8-20.

Our neighbours at our old house which had single glazed windows would be glad he moved. I remember you could hear the TV coming up the driveway.

He's in a house with double glazing now. Can do a great job keeping the sound contained.

This is what happens when you don’t get an education
They don't always stay in until death. It costs to take off your patch but laser treatment takes time and many appointments so if he's changed and supports someone I can respect that. But yes there are contradictions in the context of the photo.

Apologies for not attempting humour on this.

So I will have a go at humour.

Ready?

He looks like Sam Cane to me. That's it. That's the joke.
Could have been and his socks pulled up covered the swastika all those years? Not a fan of the work he’s had on his face since
