Majority of people in the US want voter ID. Its actually one of the least contentious issues they have looked at, certainly as far as public support. Many states already require some form of ID from what I understand. If women are married, their marriage certificate can be used, along with other forms of ID.View attachment 15783
Looks like republicans are keen to see id at elections. Could have some implications with only 51% of Americans having a passport and could present issues for married women with their birth certificate varying from married name among concerns

Because most of those are made up. The argument that black people and married women will struggle to provide ID, is so patronising. Ami Horowitz did a great piece on this like a decade ago.![]()
Why The SAVE America Act Could Create New Obstacles For Millions Of Voters
The SAVE America Act passed in the House on February 11, 2026. Here are some reasons why the SAVE America Act could harm election integrity rather than help it.www.forbes.com
This is an article on some of the potential obstacles. Seems odd to be so definitive that it will go through with or without congresses support

Thereβs overwhelming support from citizens. The only complaints are from special interests groups. Student and tribal ID shouldnβt be valid for things like driving, guns and voting.![]()
What to know about how the SAVE America Act could change voting

New SAVE Act Bills Would Still Block Millions of Americans From Voting
The βshow your papersβ requirement is an attack on the freedom to vote.www.brennancenter.org
Good on you with the marginalised front and foremost again but thereβs many concerns highlighted in these articles along with the one I posted before with things like student idβs invalid or tribal idβs only excepted with an expiration date which many donβt according to one of these articles. There are very real concerns that why wouldnβt you abide by congressβs ruling rather than announce it will be done either way?

You have a driverβs license for driving and a gun license for owning a gun but no such thing as a voting license so already they are cherry-picking over whatβs acceptable by not accepting student idβs and tribal idβs without an expiry date-which is an odd requirement in itself, they are photo idβs as is whatβs being asked though. Have to see whether congress passes it but I canβt see why the view of itβll go through either way existsThereβs overwhelming support from citizens. Also on your article..

There are obvious concerns that Iβve posted a few articles of the many existing and thereβs nothing rational in not all education institutions and tribal administrations being equal as photo identification is whatβs necessary and these are forms that prove the person is who they say they are. Non expiry date idβs for tribal identification phased out seems an odd request being that they will only accept tribal idβs with an expiry dateBecause you canβt have IDs issued by quangos with no oversight. Non expiry date IDs got phased out globally due to the exploitation of them.
Itβs not odd at all. Non expiration date IDs are super vulnerable to being used in identity theft. If IDs have expiration dates, then they have to be renewed. Dead people canβt renew IDs, so you prevent fraudulent use with one easy trick. There are obvious concerns that Iβve posted a few articles of the many existing and thereβs nothing rational in not all education institutions and tribal administrations being equal as photo identification is whatβs necessary and these are forms that prove the person is who they say they are. It should be fairly basic to look at the identification of the person and verify they are who they say they are and check their details without the necessity of needing to update their identification on that technicality of the expiration date. Comes under the cost side of things like why a big portion donβt have a passport over there. Certainly nothing to show congresses findings shouldnβt be abided byItβs not odd at all. Itβs why NZ driverβs licenses, went from paper lifetime, to photo with expiration.
Ive already explained why. If you don't like the answer, not sure if there's much left to discuss on this topic. It should be fairly basic to look at the identification of the person and verify they are who they say they are and check their details without the necessity of needing to update their identification on that technicality of the expiration date. You should write to the NZ govt and say they should go back to lifetime non expiration IDs cos its "fairly basic to look at the identification of the person and verify they are who they say they are and check their details without the necessity of needing to update their identification"
Come on bro...
How can you have the nerve to talk about the integrity of elections when the guy you donβt seem to have the mental fortitude to acknowledge says he wonβt accept congresses ruling around the bill, still wonβt acknowledge he lost the 2020 election with every court saying he did in fact lose it. This bill only went through by 5 votes so not even an overwhelming majority in the house and just crept over the line. Iβve posted numerous articles on the matter to which nothing youβve contributed has addressed those concerns by posting a fox roving reporter creating a pathetic angle. This is really what Iβve been driving at, why not accept congresses ruling if it doesnβt pass? The integrity of elections should be preserved, but access shouldn't be at a cost. Id support reduced cost state / national ID (drivers / passport) over access with dodgy IDs
Are you having a stroke? The only person hyperventilating about congress is you. I haven't addressed it, because I'm not even talking about that, as its a whole other subject. How can you have the nerve to talk about the integrity of elections when the guy you donβt seem to have the mental fortitude to acknowledge says he wonβt accept congresses ruling around the bill, still wonβt acknowledge he lost the 2020 election with every court saying he did in fact lose it. The only one having a stroke is you pulling your pecker. Every post Iβve mentioned the congress part and youβve dodged it every time until I asked the question specifically. Youβve really provided nothing towards the debate other than you like it so itβs ok without addressing the concerns in the 3 articles Iβve posted among the many available as to why there are concerns. 218-213 as far as the votes for the bill goes isnβt an indication thereβs an overwhelming view itβs neededAre you having a stroke? ID to Vote is a pretty easy exercise in philosophical debate that can be had as an abstract (not by everybody apparently)
I canβt decipher a coherent point about congress anywhere in these text walls. Grammar was invented for a reason. The only one having a stroke is you pulling your pecker. What a surprise. The right backs early voting.I canβt decipher a coherent point about congress anywhere in these text walls. Grammar was invented for a reason.
As for concerns, Iβve addressed that too. Itβs fake. Social justice groups earning their donations. 83% support amongst actual people that vote.
Among the most-supported proposals:
- Requiring electronic voting machines to print a paper backup of a voterβs ballot (84% in favor)
- Requiring all voters to show government-issued photo identification (83%)
- Making early, in-person voting available for at least two weeks prior to the election (80%)
- Making Election Day a federal holiday (74%)
