Here’s my take on the problem with US politics.

We hear endless stories on Trump but we never hear about the leader of the opposition, whose role in a democracy is to hold the govt to account.

The problem is the Democrats don’t have a leader of the opposition until the next election. There’s no one voice with authority to call Trump out and make him look like the idiot that he is.

That’s not Trumps fault, that looks to be a fault with the US democratic system. In any other country the leader of the opposition would be having a field day embarrassing Trump and we all know that’s his weakness - his ego, ridicule and being embarrassed.

Additionally, in our β€˜parliamentary house’ style of politics where the opposition directly asks questions of the Prime Minister, he would be under sustained pressure and personal embarrassment.

The US democratic system has glaring weaknesses and I’m glad we have our system.

Trump appears to be in a position of being marginalised and hopefully only has social media to remain relevance. The real problems are those who have supported him and benefited from his ptesidency. People like Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham. The espouse 'America first' but have dual allegiance to Israel.

This footage is from fox, so you can imagine it’s much worse. I reckon republicans reigning in their candidate would be a better idea than blaming the opposition, but with people like Stephen miller involved, the republicans are always going to draw concerns. Republicans need to purge their party of these factors or America will break in two. There’s a portion of that country that follows this administration through anything, pedophilia, white supremacy or anything

Good to hear a Danish Parliamentarian state that they will fight the US if the US invades Greenland.

About time someone was up front with Trump, the only way you get through to him is to state in black and white what is on the line.

Leaders like Macron and Carney are standing up to the US.

At least America and the world is no longer in doubt that the stakes of invading Greenland is war.

You know he is a fuckwit.
But he is making a pertinent point on mental health.
Like speaking from personal experience here... in Australia anyway, long term mental health ' care ' isn't really done anymore. They'll keep you for a while but then it's back out onto the streets or whatever. I'm imagining that's why there's a rise in homelessness and stuff in the west. Don't get me wrong , mental hospitals were fucked places with electroshock therapy and lobotomites.
