Politics 🤡 Donald Trump

It’s taken a few days of quiet from the usual suspects but they’re here in their glory now. I can’t recall who it was, but what makes me laugh is posters like the one when Charlie Kirk’s throat was blown out saying they won’t talk to anyone again who has negative things to say about him. Just like people want to say Renee Good deserved what she got, as did Kirk to many
Im glad you can see the hypocrisy of those left posters when the 'usual suspects' follow the standards set. Obviously without going down the unfounded rabbit holes that the usual suspects on the left do.

Remarkable to see a couple of posters on the right on here slip ever further into the embrace of authoritarianism in real time.

Remarkable how you can reframe a murder and water it down.
I really don’t care for America or Trump and believe the US gets everything they deserve for voting him in. I don’t particularly engage in this thread which isn’t relevant to me.

I’ve been vocal against tariffs and Venezuela where his actions actually affect other countries.

But personally, if the US wants to tear itself apart it’s their problem. Someone trying to become a social influencer against a stress, undertrained police force is just so American. It’s all absurd.

That’s not reframing murder, that’s me as an outsider shaking my head at the clown show.

You mean all these years of sanctimonious posting here and it turns out you actually are a nasty fuck wit.

Who would’ve thought eh
Too soon for a joke eh?

If you weren't such a sanctimonious dick head who creepily stalks people on here I might give a shit about what you have to say.

All these years of you just calling people names and nothing of substance to say

Who would have thought eh?

Somebody needs a break from the internet….
All the bad facebook meme groups has radicalized our forum “centerist” dullard.

Quite the spectacle to watch in real time.

Weird how the poster never seems to acknowledge John Nick or sup42 too, not sure what the guts is of that story? You and MaybeTop8 get acknowledged but only really for sarcasm purposes and oddly the people that call MaybeTop8 out for posting everything on the politics thread did exactly the same thing under the previous government. All a good indication of the differing views we hold in society and how things could fall apart from the inside of countries with divisions spread

On trend, has anyone seen those police ‘auditors’ that try to be pricks without breaking the law and trying to taunt police into arresting them for a law suit.

Surprised one of them hasn’t been shot by a cop yet!

The poster. The usual suspects.

Ah the unsolved mysteries of the forum.

Friends,
This is a national emergency. Trump is off the rails. His ICE and Border Patrol goons are loose on America. The havoc in Minneapolis will worsen and will occur elsewhere. Yesterday, someone else was shot there.
His military is loose on the world. Now Venezuela and the Caribbean, at any moment Iran or Cuba or Greenland. (European nations are at this moment sending troops to Greenland, presumably to defend it from Trump’s America.)
You may feel helpless — a powerless observer of this hurricane of violence and stupidity.
You may be experiencing the kind of despair that immobilizes the brain and numbs the senses.
You may want to scream but can’t find your voice because you’re so shocked and frightened.
Please do not succumb to helplessness, despair, or fear.
You are needed. Desperately.
What more can you do beyond protesting, calling your members of Congress, and (if you can afford to) writing checks to candidates who can flip seats?
Stay politically engaged, but don’t wait for the Democratic Party to get a spine or hope that the Republican Party discovers integrity. We are moving beyond party politics.
Here’s what you can also do: Mobilize your employers, your organizations, and your congregations — anywhere you work, any group of which you’re a member — and get them to use their influence to end this barbarity.
Organize your fellow employees, retirees, alumni, and congregants. Get them to help you pressure trustees, directors, and heads of every major university, professional association, charity, and foundation. Every corporate CEO or managing director. Every religious leader.
Push everyone with any formal authority in this nation to speak with clarity and conviction against what is happening, and to commit themselves and their organizations to ending this scourge.
Help them understand that silence in the face of this catastrophe is complicity. That there is no longer any excuse for them to be “prudently cautious,” no longer any justification for them to wait until “others take the lead.”
The emergency is now.
Help them see that as America slides further into this authoritarian nightmare, their own organizations are on the line. No group is secure. No corporation is immune. There is no place to hide.
You can be a leader by getting the formal leaders of America to exercise their formal leadership and power.
The heads of American corporations and financial institutions need to issue strong rebukes of this regime. Corporations and banks that pride themselves on their responsibilities to the American public have a special role: Patagonia, TOMS, Ben & Jerry’s, Salesforce, Adidas, Microsoft, Google, JPMorgan Chase.
We also need to hear from leaders of America’s great foundations, which, after all, are organized to pursue the public interest: Ford, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Bill and Melinda Gates, J.Paul Getty, Robert Wood Johnson, Kellogg.
We need America’s religious leaders to condemn this brutality: bishops of the Catholic Church, the United Methodist Church, and the General Convention of the Episcopal Church; pastors of the Southern Baptist Convention and National Baptist Convention; president and counselors of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; rabbis in the Central Conference of American Rabbis, Union of Reform Judaism, and the Orthodox Union; imams in the Islamic Society of North America.
We need America’s great nonprofits to loudly repudiate what’s occurring: League of Women Voters, Salvation Army, Common Cause, National Urban League, Public Citizen, Sierra Club, Greenpeace, Hispanic Federation.
Also the American Bar Association, American Medical Association, National Education Association, American Federation of Teachers, American Association of University Professors, National Library Association — all must loudly condemn Trump’s lawless reign of terror.
We need every labor union in America and its leadership to denounce what is happening and organize against it.
All must use their voices and their influence in this fight, because no other fight is as crucial at this point in the history of America and the world.
Make them see this. Deliver this message to them: If these organizations and these leaders stand up against what is occurring and use their considerable influence to stop it, history will praise their leadership and courage.
If they fail to do so, history will condemn their cowardice and complicity.

What were the circumstances of the person getting shot?

I can’t remember entirely, but I’m pretty sure nobody was gloating on the death of Kirk and more calling out his character and nasty rhetoric? I do recall the poster that didn’t want to talk to anyone with negativity at least because of the laugh provided. This is where I’m thankful I sit in the middle, because I can’t see logic in the lefts passivity. I fight because they’ve drawn a line in the sand. If that shit ever gets here that we can’t rely on those we pay our taxes to protect us, watch out

Is anyone gloating about Renee Goods death? I see people calling out her actions and the situation that escalated? I think that, at times, the emojis are used rather than replying. Sometimes it's just not worth replying. Much like the eye rolls I guess. I don't see the left being passive. I see it's actions being misplaced and quite possibly misguided. You are right that we should be watchful of what is happening in the States because like it or not it follows over here eventually, in time. I'm concerned at what I'm seeing from both sides of the political spectrum over there.

All of that disinformation, the anti vaxxers, the anti science, anti climate change, all the promotion of far right theories, the misogyny, the racism, the bigotry, the homophobia - all patterns of the right
Firstly people can disagree politically.

Secondly I have mentioned you labelling people previously and you tried to make it a right wing thing even though it was you doing it.

Those things you mentioned are not a left or a right thing. They are an individual thing.

You constantly politicising these things is disgusting.

Interesting.

Thanks for the thoughts, unfortunately it's true though Snake.

Huge swathes of disinformation and lies, and that's been a concerted directed effort from many sources, including Russia, including the right and far right, amplified through opportunism and swelled by the ranks of people who have fallen for it.

Look deeply at your sources. Look at their sources. Dig deep down. You'll see patterns, you'll see ultimately that things can't be backed up or easily proven false.

If, that is, you believe in science and fact, and humanity.

It's very difficult in these times.
