Latest Rot Morgan poll has opportunity party on 6% (taking most of their support from Labour)
Being quite disenfranchised with the two major parties and the minor parties not being my cup of tea, admittedly I have started looking deeper at TOP.

Although polls seem to bounce around every time, this one shows that Labour need to do something, just hiding behind a bush and not releasing any policy isn't going to get them anywhere! Useless

Labour gearing up for a late party leader switch with a huge release of new policy and feel good marketing hype.

Fix housing, fix health system, fix pay inequality, etc. We’ve seen it all before.

Do you see anyone with the charisma of Ardern that can do a 2017? I don't think I do.
No. But a fresh face with new ideas and messages gets media attention. You can rule a line under past leaders and controversies and say it’s a new party now under my watch. To little time for the public to see them under pressure or test their policies.

Ardern was a once in a generation PR goldmine (although I think Erica Sanford could do it for National). If anyone it’s got to Kieran McNulty trying to connect to everyday kiwis?

The flaw with MMP is that it is very difficult to get a new party started and in to Parliament in some form. TOP need a very good leader that could win an electoral seat otherwise the real risk is that come election time people see it as a wasted vote not hitting the 5% threshold. Maybe this needs to be reduced to allow slightly easier access to alternative parties to the current crop?

Unfortunately for Labour, McNulty has ruled himself out of any leadership bids due to a young child among other things. He would be a great pick.

Ardern ruled it out and backed her leader… right up until she took over πŸ˜‰

She even said straight up she wasn’t experienced enough but when the opportunity comes up, you have to go for it don’t you?
