Lester Levy and this government's hard right ideology. Breaking the health system in the name of greed and neoliberalism. Good riddance to Lester Levy.

God forbid we should ever have health people, caring people, involved in our health system

This government have truly wrecked the health system

Great National led Govt, increasing health staff numbers significantly:

Nurses (largest workforce)

  • 2023: 69,000–70,000 practising nurses (derived from later growth figures)
  • 2024: 78,700 practising nurses
  • 2025: 85,462 practising nurses
Health NZ employed nurses (FTE, hospitals etc):
  • 2023: 26,505 FTE
  • 2024: 29,400 FTE
  • 2025: 35,341 headcount (not all FTE)

Not necessarily. When housing costs are pushed higher through regulation (interest deductibility, artificially restricting land use, etc) the lower decile miss out…

We need housing supply
Show me a time with a market economy and zero houses being built, cos I can show you 10,000 years of no market economy and houses being built.

Removing structural impediments to business development is not going to collapse house building. See 1940s-1980s Australia and NZ. We built plenty of houses

Mate, immigration has dried up so there’s hardly any extra demand!

There’s no cuts, fundings going up strongly, there lots of staff, health has been out of the headlines for good reasons and anecdotally, I know of 4 people having surgery recently and for all them the wait was faster than expected.

Health has been well managed by the coalition. For that we should all celebrate as New Zealanders.

There have been huge cuts.

More lies from you, more rewriting history, more bullshit. Standard m.o.

Glad the four people did well.

This is insane.

Come on you righties, this is your bread and butter. If this was Labour the activity would be the equivalent of a Kalyn Pongia rumour and the howls would be heard from Artermis on the dark side of the moon.

I’m posting from official data and you are posting from people with a conflict of interest like unions.

If you claim the health system is in disarray, how many fewer operations have there been?

I’ll help you - it’s 20,000 more elective surgeries due to more funding and more nurses.

I’ve supplied official stats showing more funding; more nurses; more operations. My work here is done. I can’t help those that are to blind to see…

Your claims the health service is underfunded and hasn’t got enough staff totally lacks credibility.

You're getting quite emotional and violent in your posts. Maybe you shouldn't post for a while. Are you doing okay?

But seriously don't rewrite history.
