Politics 🗳️ NZ Politics

I have never voted for NZ first and never will with the people running it.! He’s a political entertainer though!

Hipkins is damaged goods and as more comes out, he could be gone.

Shame really, I like Hipkins. A good family man who cares about his kids but not other people’s it seems.
Nothing to do with deflecting from the utter disaster this government is.

Record unemployment. Record brain drain leaving New Zealand for good. Record fuel prices. Record food prices. Record levels of borrowing. Record levels of attacks on māori gains. Record levels of corruption. Record levels of stupidity around things like the ferries. Record levels of crackpots in power.

I’ve said Luxon and Hipkins both should go.

Some of us judge on competence, not black and white political party lines. We can criticise or admire both sides - that’s what makes us central and balanced.

At the moment Hipkins is in the firing line being called out by Peters, so your the one deflecting 😜

Firstly you are correct Luxon and Hipkins should both be gone

Secondly you are a long way from central and balanced

Thirdly Winston has had more call outs than Fire and Emergency and he has a policy for every single issue known to mankind
Happy Easter

John
Did you see that the current gov cut Kiwirail s funding by 200 million dollars next year.
I thought Peters was Minister for rail.

Govco would have made this decision prior to the Iran war
I wonder what parts of the network would be in managed decline

Masterton to Woodville only used as back up when the line Wgtn P/ n via Levin closed
Woodville to Napier return only couple of trains each way a day
Auckland - Whangarei-Kauri

Be a tragedy if these parts of the network cease to exist

‘Many self-employed people were earning less than the median wage, and more than half of those for whom it was their main income stream were not even earning the minimum.’

Ties in with majority of businesses going down the tubes within 5 years.

As a country we have the whole risk/ reward model screwed and it’s no wonder our productivity and standard of living is stagnant.

Well, what has been the dominant economic model applied during the last 50 years and hardened and solidified by this current government?

Neoliberalism.

Now the billionaires, oligarchs, the right and the dark money behind it, they're not even pretending.

So if you want to look at cause and effect, start there.

Not forgetting of course for at least the first two years of you responding to my posts you were calling me a conspiracy theorist and couldn't acknowledge the existence of neoliberalism.

Understand you think like this.

I believe fundamentally our economy should be based on risk and reward. Everyone if they work hard and are smart should be able to rise up.

The models is broken when the minimum wage is artificially dragged above the business owners, govt employees earn more than the private sector and because of all this prioritising pay over productivity, costs are dragged up so the middle class become working poor because of lack of productivity.

A few billionaires and a few googles doesn’t change the fact the local painter can’t thrive because his apprentice earns more than him (ref: RNZ article). The whole systems ass about face….

I suppose blaming neoliberalism and the billionaires is easier than admitting costs needs to be aligned with productivity.

It's got nothing to do with a livable minimum wage - that's just basic humanity.

Instead of posting reckons, go back and read all of Rizzah's posts, and try and do so with a neutral lens. He's answered far, far better than I ever could.

Clear, concise and factual.

Have a great day, up the wahs.

What we need of course is an expansion of the rail network, along with full electrification and the focus on freight movement, as well as passengers. Get the trucking off the roads, move the freight to electrified rail and coastal shipping, intensify, strengthen and build out our electricity renewable and existing infrastructure.

Subsidise solar for existing homes, compulsory solar for all new builds.

Fucking Boomers

That article seems to indicate our social fabric is disappearing and it’s been a long time coming.

I would like to see woman participating in the workforce (ranked by hours worked) vs the happiness stats to see if there’s a correlation for the youth figures.

Neoliberalism time-poor and overworked families
