IMO on the weight of what has been released in the media is that both Hipkins and Mitchell had to have an idea of it.

Coster may well be telling the truth in that interview but not making any formal notification and other things he had either done or not done looks like he is at least accountable for some or all of the handling of this.

The other puzzling piece is he says he told Hipkins who denies it and he then told the same account to Deputy Public Service Commissioner Heather Baggott of the McSkimming affair. She has explicitly denied this.

I find it odd that he never mentioned any of this to the IPCA during their investigation.

I think your definition of a porno may be slightly different to mine. I personally wouldnt classify searching child exploitation and bestiality images simply as a porno.

I think Coster is far from the principled, truth talking person some are making him out to be.

I’m not shy to stand up for what I believe!

I’m unsure of what’s even requited - it’s just part of a simple re-consenting process that the council has now decided we have to consult with them about if a cultural report is needed. They won’t consult without money….

Don’t know the next step as I’m just a little guy that doesn’t do this very often trying to make a living.

My personal opinion is that it looks like he has failed on a number of fronts and looks to have even actually tried to divert away from investigating the complaints, actively protecting McSkimming. Now he is trying to minimise culpability. Simple as that I think.

Possibly the pressure of the mistakes he has admittedly fessed up to was putting him under pressure that he hoped going public would ease his own mind.
Unfortunately for him it's had the opposite effect.
We will probably never know the whole truth until someone writes a book in the future

All I’ve seen reported is explosive allegations from Coster? Not much about him since but rather questioning Hipkins and Mitchell on their memories. Hipkins is on the breakfast show tomorrow so you can guarantee he will have questions posed to him and it’s sounding like Mitchell knew 3 weeks prior to saying he did at this stage?

Strange times indeed Mike. Personally I hope this hard right cycle is short lived (obvs) but part of me thinks it's in for the long haul. It's a generational change/cycle, that will come back to more progressive ground, but.....maybe not in the rest of my life time

I believe that over time, society will continue to become more progressive and liberal. It’s the natural outcome of increasing freedom, technology, and scientific understanding. Don’t lose hope.

That said, we also need to recognise that society can’t move faster than the science and technology that support it.

One day i believe we’ll have some form of universal benefit. We’re really just debating the pace and the path to get there.
