A user #7 highlighted Labour's annual 9% spending growth versus 1.5% under previous governments, arguing this fueled inflation. Early fringe discussions on candidates' rugby allegiances gave way to substantive policy critiques, culminating in grim Treasury forecasts discussed in posts #271#304#308. User #168 also revealed concerns about Labour rushing regulatory changes to entrench policies pre-election.

@MaybeTop8 must be a religion fan:

- Tithe is the same as tax
- people at the top decide where to spend for everyone else
- the bible is like govt regulations
- you do as you are told as the collective trumps the individual
- Symbolism - crosses, rainbow; Palestine; Māori flags
- lots of kindness, empathy and looking for the underprivileged.
- dreams of utopian - heaven; a better world

Religion and leftness seem a natural fit?

Except religion places the father / husband as overall authority under god. Leftists view the state as the ultimate authority

100% their own responsibility. They were fully aware of their visa status and instead choose to stay, most likely banking on bleeding heart kiwis. Now they are overstaying as well as putting pressure on NZ's already stretched medical system.
Bit rough to have the sponsorship only for it to fall through. You’d hope the employer is 100% considerate when contemplating hiring staff that requires sponsorship of the consequences to have a change of mind down the line. The minister seems to acknowledge that cases can take about 6 months to be looked at, hopefully that gives them some time to sort something

The couple moved to New Zealand in 2019. During the pandemic, they worked in kiwifruit orchards as essential workers and then Ospina worked as a chef until he left his job in August 2024. He was granted a six-month migrant exploitation visa.
He secured another job, but three weeks before his visa expired, his employer told him they didn’t want to go through the process of sponsoring him, which would have enabled him to stay in the country.

It was during this time, the couple found out they were expecting.

Suicidal empathy. They should have gone home during COVID, then again if he was being "exploited", then again after his visa ran out, then again when they found out they were expecting a child. They already gamed the system and are continuing to do so. 4 years of off and on again work and now they are a drain on your health system.

Was tough moving around during covid with countries having their own rules and travel restricted to go back initially, but have had the opportunity since settings adjusted admittedly. Don’t really blame them seeking a better life from Colombia but the overpriced little island that NZ has become probably isn’t the best place to reside if employment opportunities aren’t there. Colombia looks to only be 11 spots worse than NZ for healthcare so stats say last year so hopefully their child gets the care necessary if any issues arise being considerably prematurely born

Worst bait in the history of this forum, not only were the analogies bordering on gibberish, but likening him to Tamaki was all time low.

Btw I commend you for not taking my bait about ACT voters and their well known obsessions with genitals the other day, that was beneath both of us.

But isn’t the similarities freaky?

Same mindset of looking for the community to look after you instead of individualism? I just find it the phycology interesting.

Health New Zealand-Te Whatu Ora added 2,100 nurses and more than 600 doctors to its ranks between September 2023 and March 2025, according to new figures published by the agency on Friday.

Great news from the coalition. And like with inflation and crime we can see the effects in person.

Frank and wiz embarass themselves again
We’ll start taking your one-sided and ideological commentary seriously… right after you've hired employees, rented out investment property, invested in something real, actually built a business or paid enough tax to feed lots people living in poverty.

Until then, enjoy talking from your theory land. 🤣
