If you work 1 day a week you are entitled to 10 weeks a year sick leave.
If you work 5 days a week you get 2 weeks a year sick leave.
Does this make any sense to you?
That 1 day a week worker gets over over twice the sick leave entitlement than annual leave entitlement - how crazy is that!

Employer dealing with these situations in real life. Facts.
Everyone is entitled to 10 days sick leave, regardless of hours worked. If you work one day a week do the maths… 10 weeks per annum.

There’s a reason cafes, restaurants, etc employ their staff as casuals.

Yes, plus 4 weeks holiday and then you could hit 3-4 public holidays if you work a Monday or Friday.
Can get 17-18 weeks off per year if you work it right.
Is there any wonder we’re so unproductive

My wife worked 2 days a week last year as a teacher with 20 days leave in the unionised contract.
Seen as they only work 40 weeks a year she could take a term off a year

MOST people only take what they need when sick - eg teachers.
But some see it as an entitlement where you should take the max every year.

Definitely not!
She doesn’t need to work at all and chooses to go there for the socialisation
