Unless you own the company. You are really risking it having porn on your machines nowadays. Companies if they are doing things correctly should be enforcing policies to control it. Staff are risking their employment.

Years ago I had my manager call me in as one of the girls in our department found a customers folder had a porn vid one of team had somehow copied there. Luckily it wasn't sent to the customer and she also raised with him and not to our head of department.

20 years ago in IT we had an Asia Pacific Director who also looked after IT, who complained about an infection on his device and pop-ups that he deemed inappropriate. His words, "I never want to see that on my screen again". Back then you

Also had quite a few people emailing their partner's work email address, describing what they will do to them when they get home. Must have some funny conversations when they got home. Either asking why they didn't respond or figuring out that the email never arrived and got stripped. It did mean the help desk guys gave them some funny looks.

The porn thing died off and people moved onto media. We had one guy we found who was hosting a media server. Globally, people would have loved it as it would be coming down off the high-speed corporate connection. It didn't go down too well when it came out how much it cost the company. Also experienced a lot of people laid off for hosting a media server internally at one large company.

Being in IT has been amusing sometimes.

It wasn't that it was simply porn in this case either, there's a criminal case being considered - images that could be deemed 'objectionable material' under the law....

Yeah the PC Porn is no good, but apparently the indiscretion goes beyond just affairs and objectionable material.

Was talking to a friend last night (who has been working in political sphere for years) about what they'd heard his alleged actions were that aren't being reported yet, and they are certainly of the "shouldn't do that as a grown adult in a position of power" variety if true.
