It’s obvious that the contributors to this absolutely hate the decision to cancel the ferries, you think they’d at least be honest. The $500 million hasn’t occurred since the contract was cancelled but, if they’d read the RNZ article they linked their posts to, they’d had seen that just under $480 mil was spent before the contract was canceled and under the previous government. There are more men in dangerous jobs, dangerous jobs get generally have higher paying to compensate for this. Hence men get paid more because of this...

Men work (on average) longer hours, in more specialist jobs and more dangerous jobs. They get paid more on average because of these factors - not because of their gender.
