It's a shit of a thing watching your dad in tears as you go through all the plans for the final stages of his life knowing there is really fuck all you can do. Really leaves a mark.

Must be a real mind fuck thinking you have 15 - 20 years left and finding out it's only going to be a fraction of that.

Sorry, to hear about your father. Cancer is such a terrible thing.

My wife had cancer in her mid 40’s and was fortunate to have beaten it. We had a plan for life and it’s made us reassess everything around our priorities and what’s important. Live life with no regrets.

Yeah It is an awful disease. My old man suffered from bowel cancer for his last few years but I will never forget the suffering he had to endure. He was a proud man and was embarrassed by the effects

I worry that if my good lady got cancer again, if she’d want to fight it for a third time or just refuse treatment and give up. Both times, it took her over ten years to recover until she felt “normal” again.

One positive thing about chemo…. mozzies must be able to still smell the chemicals in her because they go after me but won’t go near her!!!!

If I can offer one piece of advice…. @Inruin make sure your dad’s primary caregiver is looked after…. for me, carers fatigue kicked in around 3 years after Shayleen was diagnosed (but it’s usually after 12-18 months) and, for me, led to some really dark places. If you want, PM me.

do we want to pander to incompetent people who can’t be bothered enrolling? Those non voters are throwing democracy away for themselves.

They are not being excluded. They are excluding themselves! We’re the only democracy in the world with such an open slather approach.

The worry is in future, nobody will bother enrolling - why would you? And then as well as the votes taking forever to count, the justice system (which relies on registered voters for jury’s) would also collapse.

The simplistic issue Wiz as I see it is that people are fd off with pollies promises and the way they don't follow through when in charge
Looking at our local government and the problems is a perfect example.
People who were screaming to get rid of commissioners and have a legal election have been disappointed once again.

It's okay to speak out about that.
