I fear I'm becoming more and more like my dad. I used to give him shit for voting for Peters. But lately Winston is the one making the most sense to me. If he keeps this up he might end up with a few more votes next election.
What would be interesting is if next election the numbers give National the ability to Govern just with ACT's help but couldn't form a National/NZFirst government whether Luxon would insist on having a similar agreement to this term and have NZFirst/National/ACT

I used to vote for Winston but became disillusioned with the taxpayer having to fund his legal bills that became more and more regular. He’s certainly had some decent moments since his worthy address to the united nations. He’s got the years under his belt and is an effective lawyer and politician. The most interesting part of this coalition is going to be the second term with Seymour as deputy pm for me
Perhaps, but most interesting would be the unique switch of deputies mid term for me and who wins out if that’s the case?
yes, that period will be a real test for Luxon I think. Winston has done particularly well as wing man for Luxon. I get the impression he helps cover him and coaching him through this induction period to politics as PM. I think Seymour is a completely different prospect.

Feel like this is disingenuous from the pm and if genuine very poor of those informing him. Poor for the victims with it not raised in the appropriate channels of some sort of punishment pending for or justice of some sort. I worry that the way the world is leaning politically is making a way away from transparency and us being truly informed. I think when we’re trusting a selected group of representatives to do right by us with our own money that we supply them with that it’s the least we deserve
He must be hugely leaning on Winston as the elder statesman. Luxon showed in the most recent interview on q and a that he’s no further along as a politician and I don’t think he ever will be. Tricky too for him is that Nicola Willis is becoming increasingly scrutinised with much of the financial outlook she went into the election with looking way off. No obvious plan regarding the ferries has added to that with nothing for her to claim a win in her personal performance. I see Seymour as in it for himself, but I wouldn’t discount Winston to do the same when push comes to shove
The next budget is going to be a big telling factor I think. Those are her numbers then and cant blame the previous Government for any thing popping out of the woodwork. They campaigned heavily, and rightly so, on the financial mismanagement by Labour so need to show they are capable of doing better keeping the books under control. Will be interesting to see what new policies are added with some hinting additional social services could be added or funded more.

I dunno. He's 79 now. A couple of years down the track he'd be better off fishing, and days at the races. Without him, next man up is the confused and confusing Shane Jones. I notice that Winnie is more combative than ever, but also less coherent in laying down an argument, certainly less patient. Master of reinvention for sure, but it gets harder, and I reckon by end of this term he may be cooked. Interesting to see the rising friction between he and Seymour, who is running around pissing on lamposts. Mistook Winnie's leg for one I think.
Another thing to consider and I should have mentioned this earlier miket12. We have no ocean going tugs in Wellington if something was to go wrong with the aging vessels. A stern towing ocean going tug is an absolute need for safety@John Nick , any truth to the fears that the cancelled ferries were going to be too large to safely navigate the entrance into Tory Channel or is this just another case of NIMBY....

Im politically probably most aligned on policy with NZ First but always rule them out because of Peters.
He’s actually a great politician but wouldn’t trust him at all. Winston First.
I feel once Winston retires, NZ First will be consigned to history. Jones isn’t the leader they need.

We have seen the benefit to both parties of taking a strong position on an issue with ACT vs māori.
Once Peters is no longer deputy, in the last period before the election, I foresee them manufacturing an issue where NZ First and ACT try to differentiate themselves from National and we get a big bust up. Peters will be in his element.
Then after the election it will be best mates again.

Hahha I told you. Winnie was a slick operator. Getting too long in the tooth now.
NZ best statesmen in his day. In his prime he probably had the sharpest wit in parliament. Shapeshifted between Māori/Pakeha and rich/poor effortlessly.
So hypothetically if we go to strip clubs we could be seeing actual cops on these poles?
