I'm just saying that it has nothing to do with her resignation. Suspended from parliament I would think isn't a big deal. It's like a manager in football being suspended from being in the dugout. She did something wrong. She got punished for it. Move on.
I'm saying it played a part. It's not something that happens often at all. And there are reasons for the rules which she broke as political editor. It certainly added more pressure to her

Nicola Willis obviously has no values if indeed Maiki did apologize the day after. Willis could say publicly that there was an apology and this incident is between The journalist (Burr) and Maiki.
TBF, it’s not just the Minister and Burr that get offended by racist / homophobic comments. It’s anyone nearby

If you’ve ever been at a social event where someone does this, it’s really uncomfortable to witness it

Whether it is a hit job or not, politicians did not put those words into her mouth

In any case, as you say, she’s resigned so we can all move on

Well no db, because the resignation is a symptom of the hit job that is conveniently ignored by "moving on".

Context is everything. Maiki's done her bit, that's all out there, she's owned up and apologised, resigned.

As for the rest - well, burr's comment seems to have been conveniently hidden away by the same people that have brought this to light, and there's a WHOLE bunch of linkages associated with Ani O'Brien, that tell a different tale.
