Could be mate, from memory all those dunedin and Chch bands were basically just the local velvet underground fan club having a go at music. When I look back now we were all a bit emotionally retarded if we're honest, compared to today's kids anyway.
Grandad's still got it though.

Would be plenty of kids these days thrown into shock therapy like Reed was and people like him. Musicians often a different bunch, they talked about a strange beauty in unorthodoxy when Hendrix was on the dick cavett show. Had to have that guitar after seeing that footage and got ahold of one. Gibson sg custom reissued in 1991 from a 1964 model

Farout, I never got past bar chords, still don't know the pentatonic scale. I just had the hots for Celia back in the day when I was in 5th form and she worked at Echo records. She had a fan club of young lou reeds, she was our Nico up on the 2nd floor in the 2nd hand vinyl dept in High st where she held court. What an education that was.

No idea of scales myself and only fumble around. Wish I’d stuck with it when I was a kid getting lessons but when the saints go marching in wasn’t cutting it, very regretful. Many songs fairly basic though and goes to extremely technical
