Its been a horror few months with us losing to Bangladesh, the bizarre fielding tactics against Australia which cost us two winnable tests and the unforgivable treatment of Wagner in what should have been a proper swansong. Now this.

Don't confuse T20 with ODIs. The Windies form in ODIs is embarrassing, but they are very strong in t20. They have had a strong winning streak leading into this and had good showings against Australia, England and South Africa this year. The decimation of the team in the last 10 years has been because of the players moving into the t20 format ahead of the other formats.

Add in that it is at home and the Black Cap's lack of cricket, and we have been underdogs for this one since before the tournament.

It was a tougher pool than it looked, but still a very disappointing showing from the Black Caps. The trajectory is definitely going one way only at the moment. By far and away my biggest concern is our limited opportunities though. If you are only playing half the games of other teams, then you are always going to be behind the 8-ball.

They've won 2 T20 world cups which is equal with England and ahead of everyone else.
