We sure seem to have the Saffa's number in any sort of deciding game dont we.

Love watching Rachin bat when he's in the zone. The way he can access the off side particulary. Plays the ball on the move a lot ive noticed and not scared to move around the crease and a real flourish with that high backlift. Obvious he's the heir apparent to Kane. Hopefully we can devlop 1 or 2 other young batters for the future so he wont be playing a sole hand (pity Finn Allen is so shit in the longer form). Hope either Rhys Mariu, Matt Boyle, or Muhammed Abbas can kick on.

2007 WC, 2011 WC (Styris headbutt), 2015 WC (Grant Elliot Superman!), 2019 WC (Kane final over 6), 2025 CT. Henry has a knack of getting injured against them for some reason, made his WC debut against them in 2015 too lol.

I've come to terms with this bogey thing will just always be there, somehow stats/match ups is really a thing in cricket, IMO this is the best route for us - losing to India in the group stage means we avoid Australia, and take on SA chokers who probably cried before playing us 🤣 India did us a favor by knocking out AUS, and now we play India again who we've scarred a few times in knock outs (knocked them out in 1999, our only CT win in 2000, 2019 famous semi, 2021 Test championship final, 2024 famous test sweep)

And we don't do well against hosts in the finals, although India has been based in UAE (weird eh) but it's not exactly "home," and we've played them there this week and had a good look at their secret spinner who ripped us apart. I reckon they can do the job if they have a mean attitude and execute.

Btw I love the way Rachin drag 6s to the onside baseball style, he's like an EA Sport NPC, doing impossible angles

It is so good to see Abbas back in the runs after what was looking like a lean season. At just 21 he has a lot of years ahead of him if NZC nurtures him well. Mariu continues to make each post a winner, and is young. Early days for Boyle.

NZ brought Ravindra through really intelligently. He was a star in the making a long time ago, but they brought him in slowly and allowed him to learn around the squad. He has been around the camp for 4-5 years and is now ready. Hopefully we have the luxury of doing that with the new crop, but it looks unlikely.
I reckon the black caps coach will retire after final win or lose.
I wonder if Kane would go out on a high if he won an ICC event. I hope he feels like he has a lot of miles in his legs yet. It is easy to understand the Steven Smith retirement, he hasn't excelled in 50 over cricket like he has in tests and Australia will always have a full test calendar for him. Unfortunately Kane doesn't have that test calendar to keep him engaged.

WC is only 2 years away, hope Kane doesn’t pull the trigger that quickly, with 2 more years of experience to the current pacers, Young, Ravindra, Philips, and Henry in his last WC, Santa in his peak, we might have a chance to send Kane off on a high, 2019 still hurts lol. 😢 Ravindra/Williamson is the new Williamson/Taylor combo of the 2010s, it’s big game winning X-factor if they click

He needs to have at least a home farewell tour like BMac before retiring, he’s literally the best ever in NZ cricket history

Need an extra 50 runs and 4 spinners to take them out before death bowling, O’Rourke and Jamieson actually can be lethal up top, though might struggle if Gill and Sharma hits out from the start

Latham's review looked to be purely based on panic for his career... Surely can't have thought he hit it, and didn't look like it was close to missing.
