At 200 metres there's a bit of difference going on lol , ok champ there's fuck all happening at 200m because the O2 level in the water is minimal and reduces the deeper you go. There's not much livestock or ground cover (think seabed mining) at that depth. The ocean floor overall is a desert once you get out beyond the surf zone and there are no natural or man made reefs

Taxing the world most efficient food industries is daft when the competition isn’t paying. It makes the polluters more competitive.
Planting the world most efficient food growing land in forests is daft.
Banning clean burning gas and coal and importing worse stuff from overseas is daft.

Ok, so we export our coal which is fair enough as it is top of the line coking coal which anyone who makes steel needs. Just for the record, NZ has the 13th largest coal reserves in the world.
The 1m tonne of imported foreign coal annually is another matter.
We do it because it is cheap and we can claim the carbon credits as it is mined overseas. Plus gas reliability depends on Methanex turning down the taps to which they have a legitimate contract right.
Says it all about the credit system on which I have posted earlier as the best grift in the world. Where's top8 when I need him?
Once most of our arable land is planted in pines (because there is a profit to be made in the carbon credit market) and we are importing LNG, we will be really feeling the pinch
