Team List NZ Warriors v Penrith Panthers - [Round 13, 2026]

Score at 60 min mark last 5 games vs Riff (and the 7 who played).

14-6 2023 (SJ)
20-6 2023 wk 1 finals (TMM)
16-16 2024 Magic (TMM only win)
14-12 2025 (Lukey Met)
12-8 2025 wk 1 finals (Boyd)

One thing thats a bit of pattern recently against Pahs is regardless of the 7 is we can go toe to toe with these blokes for 60 mins, generally keeping it to a one or two score game, then they pull away in the last 20.

The old cliche, just need to play the full the 80.

We know we can go with them, just have to do it for the full game and Fish and Co need to bring the energy when they come back on to the field for the last quarter.

We beat them up at the playoffs last year, rolling over them around 60-70th min, , just not as lethal on attack and CNK decided to have a cup of tea instead of catching the ball at halfway, and Leka couldn’t catch TMM’s sweeping passes to score/set up score. Will see if we can be professional tmr and finish the job

That was such an oddly officiated game.

Quite a few missed calls.

We will stand toe to toe. We have the fitness, physicality and the players to win this game but we need to continue our mental game and stay calm in the pressure moments and stick to our strengths. Because our strengths are top shelf and so hard to withstand. But we are yet to play our highest octane game from start to finish of a game and here's hoping this is the game we do.

There forward pack dosen’t seem to have had a major influence this year other than Yeo. It’s been their backs which are putting up crazy meterage numbers

Without looking at any stats, i'm going to imagine us and Penrith are the two most disciplined sides in the comp or at least close.

So expecting a lot of inside pressure to TMM on the last, and likely a lot more yardage kicks needing to be taken as Penrith will be defending well with good line speed. So we will get a good idea about how this halfs pairing will work later in the year.

One thing to remember is that come September refs generally swallow their whistle to a certain extent. So id be expecting the six agains to be well down like we saw in origin, where your yardage kicks have to be on point. Thankfully we have to the cattle to move the ball down field well, so we aren't sitting ducks reliant on a Moses boot.

I say this as I big TMM fan, but aware just how important a quality kicking game is from your halfback even in this new touch footy era.

Bang on there. We will have to earn it tomorrow if we are to win. I'm getting amped now.
