Jett can return home and groom at FG like 2018 again, were they thinking Met 6 Cleary 7? Big risk letting others go and compete after Nov though and if we lose out or not get early release there’s another year’s gap

Better to lock down the current combo and if he really hits the market bargain with Ivan for a direct swap later I’m sure that’d be a win for everyone, Lussick is having a good time, Luke would be better swap if we have Cleary’s x factor and health
Perhaps they don’t see the current combination getting us to where we want to be? There must surely be getting concerns about Metcalf’s inability in stay uninjured too? Really got no idea and likely nothing to it but finding him going to market alone as an interesting development

Thank you for your service Marata Niukore

It’s a tad little disrespectful saying the Knights have overhyped the signing

I was super excited when he joined in 2024

Highlight was definitely when he squared up to David Fafita. Just about wet my pants watching 👀

Knights know what they bought. Good luck to him and the Knights. If they can stay healthy easily top 8 in my books next year

I was at that game- that was farken awesome- I never realized how big marata was till he shaped up- don’t think fafita did either haha he was definitely having second thoughts…

James Hooper mentioned the Sharks as a possible destination for CHT on his podcast.
CHT is such an interesting player. Excellent defender (almost an offensive defender), great team man and leader, does not have the explosiveness or speed you would love to be a 6, seems to lack real high level kicking ability and playmaking ability when you look at him BUT his stats are good, things happen around him. He stiffens up the line, people catch his kicks and he is involved in tries even though it may not always be the last pass, he brings a great spirit to the game and he has some good try assist stats. He is a Warrior through and through, would be sad to see him go.

I didn't like CHT too much when he was playing 7. His effort has always been great, but the things you need for a half were missing. Getting the side around the field, ball playing.

The last two years at 6, he has been great. He lets the 7 guide the side around the field, coming in when needed. We have been scoring off his kicks, and he is involved in quite a lot of scoring plays.

A lot of players have improved under Webster. I've seen discussions that he is good working with halves. CHT looks to be benefiting from this.

If he wants to look around. Fair enough. He has been a starting half. He may want to see if he is being paid accordingly.

It's such an interesting conversation when you bring stats into it. CHT is proof that sometimes teams need players that don't always fit the 'mold'.

Personally, I've stopped asking questions of CHT purely because he seems to be the 6 that our system benefits the most from having. His massive hits on defense fire up the boys around him and his subtle touches in attack don't make the highlights reel but work a treat.

If we let CHT go part of me will die.
it was hard enough letting Bunty go but fair enough his form had dropped and even Benji hasnt picked him.
CHT embodies the Warriors.
Humble and tough all in one.

Yeah I guess its the guy that can turn a match with a huge hit or make somthing happen when nothing is happening, that's CHT.

Anyone that thinks CHT is halfback though, he is not!

If we could somehow extend both CHT and Boyd that would be incredible.

Martin is gone and I would imagine we lose Hanson and it would be down to Cleary and Thompson.

If we let Boyd go then Cleary needs to be ready to step up, Huge Gamble at this stage. It's the difference of playing finals and not playing finals imo.

Iron Lion and GeePee were the worst.
Anyone else been around long enough to remember Iron Lion being adamant the Warriors had signed Foran for $2m a year?

Forget Foran

I still remember the Matai/Watmough double signing. That was a stretch that would make Reed Richards go "WTF?"

I always thought Wrighty's puppeteer was Iron Lion or an Iron Lion disciple with a new name. The posting was borderline identical.

Also, adios Niukore. Did your best, but your best has now been surpassed. Best of luck at the Knights. I look forward to your two best games per year being against us.

With CHT you feel it will be more a life decision rather than a professional one. The chance for new experiences may be a motivator and of course he has friends and relatives in other teams. Didn't he do his OE with Angus Crichton and is good friends with Nathan Cleary? And of course a brother in the Broncos system.

Sadly, we are unlikely/shouldn't tie up the cash in both Tanah and CHT that may be required to keep them. We have gone in already on Metcalf, I'd rather keep CHT ahead of Tanah. Or we turn Metcalf into a 1, and if that causes him to leave then the cash issue is sorted.
