Sorry - but the reality is that he isn't going to be our main half for even 50% of his contract. Seriously, I like him and I'm not a knee jerk person - however, what have we seen that gives us any confidence that we are going to get value for money out of him?
I'm a 'give everyone a go' and 'fairy tale' type of dude - but seriously... this isn't it. It sucks for him, but it also sucks for us. It just isn't meant o be.

Luke still has the annoying habit of running then stopping dead in his tracks to kill momentum and the backline line. Did it again today. Cross field running then stopping to change direction. What’s with that ????

If we’re ever to win a premiership in the close future it will be on the back of Metcalf playing at his best, along with a couple outside back signings.
Every team needs that clutch X factor player and he’s ours. I think this is the risk we’re just gonna have to take.
Need to see how bad this hammy is first tho.
Or we can just get the cht, Boyd combo back together and put Metcalf at fullback

He’s 27 and hasn’t played 50 NRL games yet.
There’s no proof he has what it takes to be the superstar we all want him to be.
We have to persist with him but he should be thought of as a talent that might chip in as a bonus as opposed to the key central figure he wants to be.
