General Warriors Preseason 2026

Not aiming at you. Just expressing my dislike for those grubby bulldogs.

But yeah of flogging your team to new heights garners the improvement and levels you're aspiring to.... go for it.

Push it up our sand dune then I'll be impressed 😁 😁
Just team building exercises I think? Yeah I can’t stand them either

What could go wrong, bunch of young guys around a stuck truck, someone revving the shit out of it?
You’re not wrong. Much more unlikely of the sand dunes falling in than a truck rolling over someone. Another sign we’re being run better than these Aussie clubs

Sand dune runs are dumb.

Trucks are dumber?

Feeling a bit annoyed with the stupid dune ritual this morning, having read articles about people dying or being crushed severely by colloapsed dunes.

Safety warnings with Sand dunes are along the lines of stay away from steep slopes with little to no vegetation....pretty much the shit the Warriors mess around on.

All those little legs pumping up and down like tiny jack hammers in the dune as they repeatedly make runs....what could go wrong?

Ah well, can’t please everyone. Haven’t seen that about dunes collapsing but still think a truck injuring someone in either mode of exercise is higher odds than the other. Listening to Cupples in that video, it sounds as much about finishing up before the break in a special place honouring Sonny Fai

You can't please everyone indeed and of course the truck is ten times worse.

They can run up and down Bethels on the flat and have a remembrance day without going up dunes eh.

We’ll be better off when the season arrives than taking kfc and having a picnic. Too much sand blowing around too for that. I hear what you’re saying sup but I think it’s just about the tradition now?

Could be talking out of my arse but i thought the truck thing is more about presenting a problem to a group and see how they go about solving it.....as a team (how many times do u see in a game a team looking absolutely clueless when their up against it?). It also highlights to coaches which individuals are comfortable taking charge and which one's just want to be worker bees.....so i can see value in that sort of stuff.

......or it could just be a truck stuck in a fucking ditch ;)

@sup42 have you ever been to Lake Wainamu?
There is zero chance in my opinion of "collapsing dunes"

Teams are always trying to find winning formulas.

I just think these camps are run to give this military style team work ethics bullshit.
When really if they'd spent tha time as a team working on the problem of shit defence or something I think its time better spent. If you wanna have fun, go do recreational shit. Don't hybridise it. It's silly. It's corporate. It's a fucking scam.

I actually like the Bellamy approach during pre-seasons. Not sure if he still does it but I remember it being mentioned years ago that in addition to the military style camp preparations, he would send his players out to the construction sites or work other muscle jobs part time. Not just for the physical toil but also to keep them grounded in the real world.
