A few people were opposed to it last year but on behalf of myself most of the annoyance was how long SOO impacts lasted. Started round 13 and you were hamstrung until round 20. This year sounds much better with the rule you only need 13 in a minor bye round. I think you will be fine to proceed with this recommendation on this basis. At least that is my view.
Is there still a promo relegation? Rewarding those who performed well last year and relegating those who didn’t, or gave up? Ideally there’s no one in the top tier that gives up as it’s really frustrating

If we're playing Head to Head, traditionally you would not play major bye rounds.
I also think it's the best way to play as H2H you are aiming for the best 17 at the end, not wasting trades for major bye rounds.
Both major and minor bye rounds are 13 players, I think it's fine.

We played it last year, it was challenging and a few of us played with 11-12 but this year is easier with minor rounds also 13.
I think over at superleague they have bye rounds if that's more your jam.
I've played H2H Fantasy for a decade, in several different cash leagues with $1000 pots at the end. We have never played major bye rounds, as I said, happy for it to happen if that's what everyone wants.

Why the run on him then at 21% ownership - what am I missing. He is a below average player in my view.

Looks like he has the lock position at the Tigers from early articles.
Playing him at centre and getting Lock points would be a good play.
DPP at 300 odd K makes him a must have imo.

I was going to go with Isaiah Papali'i but then got cold feet as his price is $680K already and there is no telling what head space he will be in for his new team. So now looking for an edge....to replace him - I will leave Jack Bird as my starting edge for now even though you said he is best suited at centre. If he is a lock then for sure he will make 40 points per game.
I just benchmarked the most vanilla lock I can think of (Klees Haas) who started three games at Lock last year according to footy stats.com and scored
53 points round 5 vs Cowboys
58 points round 10 vs Cowboys
33 points round 11 vs Knights
I will look to move Bird to centre later in the game after I eventually trade up to a better edge.
