Maybe he could do better with a new 6 and 1. But everyone’s acting like he hasn’t had a shot yet, we did go decent against the panthers in the semi tbf.
I’d like to see a Boyd, Martin and Roger spine.

Boyd hasn't hit 100 games yet.

He is only twenty five years of age.

I don't judge halfbacks off a dozen games because it is a waste of time.

You need to see a half run for a good chunk of the season with a team around them that is in some form individually - to get a sense of which way their career trajectory is heading - and you need to factor in a stable spine and key forwards.

He has the raw tools to be a good NRL halfback.

People have concerns about his confidence (that is another thing that doesn't fix itself in NSW cup).

Lets see how he goes with Barnett in the side and this full preseason he is getting to prep for a fair go.

It is good we have hard games early on to push the lot of them, if Boyd comes through that then we are having a different conversation.

And then they reckon CHT makes way for TMM when Metcalf returns. Under Webster, CHT has 32 starts as our #6 & TMM has just 17 despite being around an extra season

TMM has a couple of starts at 7, even not that long ago against bulldogs where he went off injured. CHT offers the better kicking game, but I think TMM leads the team around better of the two. I think Tanah Boyd will be the 7 though

We played some amazing league throughout the season but died by the sword of injuries and inconsistencies. And we played some rubbish as well at times.

Are we going to make the needed changes to start the season? Webby is very loyal, but those stats are glaring for an aging backline, no one can deny that. Or is a slow start required to force a change.

He is a robust defender and rarely gets knocked out amongst the big boys.
