Did you know Celia? She was like a sarcastic hurricane. Had her own show for a while, slightly Dalit.
Let's not even start again with Julie Andrews.

It didnt end too well for her unfortunately. Quite tragic story in her later years. In her younger years she would of been queen of the scene.
She had a relationship break up she never recovered from and it all went wrong.

How’s the drum set you got ahold of going?
Good mate... got the basis of it here in Auckland then a 13 inch tom of eBay. Just finished getting the last of the drum, cymbal and stand bags.

Next on the "list" is a Yamaha HexRack and some Sabian Legacy cymbals (all from the States).

Problem with drums is you're never quite satisfied and you always looking for ways to "improve the sound" or something new.

Current set up as a five piece with a Sabian 14" Sound Control crash from the late 80's/early 90's. Biggest regret was selling one of these cymbals when I sold my old kit... fantastic finding a replacement in the States.... even if it arrived in a Pizza Box for packaging. Got a Ride cymbal as well but don't want to buy another stand if I'm getting the HexRack.

What’s the main genre of music you like to play Mike?

Really eclectic... jazz, 80's/90's rock and hip hop. So a smaller fusion kit like this works pretty well for all of those.
They make great gear Yamaha. I just got ahold of a Roland amp the other day that they’ve discontinued the line of. Played on someone else’s and loved the sound, another company that makes great gear. 80 watt but also got Marshall 100 watt and Behringer vampire that I need to get into the shop. Sounds like you know the exact set up you want

Been mucking around on co-pilot.... this is sort off what it will look like except the middle cymbal would be mounted on the rack and all mounted toms mounted on the rack. And, it didn't want to bring the rack forward or show the ride cymbal.

But, then I confuse the heck out of anyone looking at me when playing because I'm left handed but can only play open handed on kits set up for right handed people so the ride is on the outside of the hi-hats and not by the floor tom. If they can't understand that, it's little wonder co-pilot can!!!

Roland make some really good amps. Back in the day, I had some Tama TechStar mounted toms and used to run them through a Roland amp.... until some jerks stole the controller and the amp.

We sound similar in that I write and paint left handed, though a little bit ambidextrous but play guitar or any bat or racquet sports right handed or kick a ball with right foot

Mate, I'm just weird (but then you all know that).

Right handed... drums, golf, hockey, cricket batting, pool/snooker
Left handed... writing, guitar, racket sports, ball throwing
Left foot kicker.

Good to have both sides of the brain earning their keep. Great thing music is for the memory. Glen Campbell fascinated me with his fall to dementia though he could still get up on the stage and recall many of those chords and lyrics

My mum was a piano teacher... she wanted to become a concert pianist.

Before she passed away, she lost all her short term memory but still entertained the other residents (or follow inmates as she referred to them when she first went to the rest home after her fourth fall) playing one of Chopin's piano concerto's from memory. It was a piece she'd learned over 70 years before as a teenager... but she wouldn't be able to tell you what she'd had for breakfast that day.
