Do you have kids? Having grandparents around is massive when you have young kids. If his Mrs decided they needed to be in Sydney thats where he would have gone.

Just realized she confirmed she's a home executive so the demand for grandparents reduces with it, stars aligned really they moved here, have a baby and Luke spends half the time parenting the baby with wife and they probably have a moms/bubs bubble at the club.

If they're without a child and wife sits at home doing nothing or get bullied at work then it could be a different story

The sporting fan still can’t quite comprehend or appreciate professional sports

The same knob that would change employer for a $1 an hour pay difference can’t wrap their head around a player weighing up between potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“Testing the market” is not “I’m leaving the club”. Its due diligence, and when it comes to down tens or hundreds of thousands a dollar a year then rightfully so I say. What kind of fool would not talk to the market.... Your telling me that every couple years I am free to go have a chat to other employers in my industry and either bring back better offers to negotiate with (and not have that be frowned upon) that i wouldn't do it????

These are all things some ppl need to try understand before they realize they just fell for the media spin/bullcrap in the first instance lol

I agree with this. It is still tough being away from family but with the amount Luke will be earning he can pay for both sets of grandparents to come and visit several times a year. It sounds like the club has a good culture for young children and goes out of its way to provide support.

I understand this yet, in the end, Luke didn't test the market did he? And good on him I say

he's a beast on the break but he can't pass. Hard pass
If he spent a decent chunk of off season post international duty practicing the art of catching and passing at high speed he would be worth it.

At 20 he can add to his muscle memory and develop both a pass and a kick if necessary. Now keep in mind this is just my off season chat. Not definitely going to happen

Even after he just about pulled the game out of the fire against bulldogs at centre last year, they still didn’t opt to get a look at him furthermore at centre in the trials and had a look at EIT there in one trial match for periods. I’m not sure it’s on the clubs radar to shift him with him being so damaging where he is. Will be interesting to see how he’s used for Tonga with another decent coach in Kristian Woolf and be interesting to see if Kaliss Fatialofa gets a trial there next year?

Yip. I'm just chatting during off season.

It’s definitely a good conversation because there’s no doubt I think he could definitely make a solid fist of it. DWZ was taken back when he messaged him saying he had his back obviously knowing the criticism DWZ was getting. We’ve got a special one here and I hope second year syndrome isn’t major but you can see the tone of him starting to build now. He looks in peak condition

Based solely on my Mark 1 eyeball tesr. The players I think could add to the squad, Drinkwater, although defence can be sketchy, Averillo, covers Centre and Wing. David Fafita, new start out of the goldfish bowl. Ray Stone, tough bastard and rekiable.
I like your style Watcher. I have been a fan of Ray Stone for many years.

Our top 3 Centres are Leiataua, Pompey and Berry. Two have a history of injury and poor forn. However, their upsides are very good, especially when they string games together Pompey is the Mail man, he always delivers and is akways available . If not required at 6 maybe CHT could go there, maybe also TMM. Even CBJ again .
Is Leiataua in the top 3? Webby prioritizes defence and effort over other attributes. Definitely the most upside but until those base attributes are fixed I think he is a reserve grade player unless there is injuries.
